One suspect was arrested and another escaped when authorities discovered a drug lab in a Ceres home on Thursday.

Agents with the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency served a search warrant at the home in the 1600 block of Sungate Drive after receiving information about an ongoing power theft.

They seized 139 marijuana plants from the second story, which had been converted to a grow area, according to a news release from the Modesto Police Department.

The kitchen had been converted to a butane honey oil lab, where agents found almost two ounces of the oil. Honey oil is a form of cannabis where the marijuana plant is introduced to a solvent extraction process, MPD spokeswoman Heather Graves said in the news release. Hash oil can be the most potent of the main cannabis products because of its high level of psychoactive compound per volume.

Authorities estimated the street value for this operation at “well over $100,000.”

Two men were in the home when SDEA arrived. One was able to elude capture after running from the area. The other, 31-year-old Omar Segura of Ceres, was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana, manufacturing a butane honey oil lab, theft of utilities and committing a felony while out on bail.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to Keep there got damn mouth shut :D
