Looking for some advice. The issue I'm having is that I live in a very humid area therefore I'm finding it difficult to keep my humidity down during the drying process. I have a standard dehumidifier but it really doesn't like to work very well in the cooler temperatures. I'm trying to get 55 to 60° with 55 to 60% RH but like I said the standard dehumidifiers don't like to work in cooler temperatures as well as the dehumidifier creating heat which makes things even more difficult. Any advice is greatly appreciated

It might help to know how many plants you dry at a time.

I only do one plant at a time, so I dry in a small tent that's dedicated to drying. That, I think, makes it somewhat easier to control the drying environment. The tent has circulation fans and an exhaust fan. I don't use a dehumidifier because the room humidity is usually about 50%. I set the room temperature to 60º F. That has worked well enough. It takes about 10 days to dry a plant, more or less. We move the buds from the tent to Grove bags for final drying and curing. They stay in the bags for 4 to 6 weeks. We keep them in the dark for the whole time.

I think it's important not to dry too fast. I also think good air circulation is important.

Where are you drying? Dehumidifier should work fine at 60 degrees. An exhaust fan may be needed. How big is your drying area?

I dry in my grow room which is roughly 12 ft by 15 ft. I have plenty of exhaust if needed. I've been a wet trimmer for the last 13 years so just converted over to hanging full plants last year. If I remember right I had my temperature at 55° last dry cycle and had occasional spikes of humidity to 70 to 75 RH. Maybe I just need to kick the exhaust up. I do have AC in that room as well.

Yeah I know the number of plants that I grow may be an issue. I have nine plants this go around that will be finished in roughly 2 weeks and I dry in my grow room also which is roughly 12 ft by 15 ft. I've been a wet trimmer for the last 12 or 13 years just now switched over to hanging whole plants last year. Just had some spikes last dry cycle around 70% RH was just gets me paranoid about mold and bud rot. Everything turned out Great just really trying to find a way to keep my RH down between 50 and 60 and these dehumidifiers don't like to work very well at all at that temperature.

Can you put up a temporary wall to make the drying area smaller, be easier to control temp and humidity in a smaller space.

I use a Keystone 50 pint dehumidifier, drying a harvest right now at temps between 58-62 and 58%-65% humidity
