I'll be hanging (4) 40 pound LEDs that are roughly 40" * 43" and have 4 hanging points each, from a drywall ceiling attached to strips that are in turn screwed into joists. I'm leaning towards hammock anchors fastened to drywall/strips using Duo-Power contractor strength anchors; a bit of overkill (at least according to hardware's stated ratings). I'm interested in hearing what's worked for others in similar conditions.
FWIW, each anchor is rated for 300lbs, with 4 screw holes; fasteners are rated for 30 - 40 pounds per anchor in drywall. Plan B is 3.5" # 8 screws to fasten cedar 2*4 to ceiling/strips, with tee nuts and eye bolts. This would cost me precious headroom as my basement only has about 7'3" of clearance and i'll be growing in a UC 4XXL13 system.
Please note, i'm not looking for speculation, i want to know what has worked in similar situations for the responders to this query.
