Well what's your opinion, obviously this is hermaphrodite, but it's the only pollen sac I see on the whole entire plant. I've combed through every branch on the plant and it's the only one so far.

I went ahead and cleared that whole node (branch, pollen sac, and fan leave) on both sides. Cut it right at main stock.


Do you think it will grow more?

It's possible, actually more probable than possible. I could be wrong but there might be another cluster developing opposite side of the stalk from the bananas in your picture.

Next question I'm sure is what to do. If there's other plants, its best to remove it or cull it. If you're reluctant to do that, watch it carefully and pull off all bananas before they open. If you get a few seeds, clean them out and smoke your buds. A few seeds now and then is going to happen.

I thought I seen one on the other side as well, that's why I cleared both sides but after triming it off and a more detailed look if there was one it was lost in the cut.

I get it, it's a tough decision sometimes. Especially if you only have a couple of plants. Any idea why it may have hermmed on you?

My guess is because it was bag weed. It's my first grow, I figured better to make all my mistakes on free seeds the first time around. Wanted to make sure I could accomplish the full grow with setup I have before I invest in another tent and buy seeds then start cloning.

There's a very strong possibility it came from hermaphrodite parentage. I could be wrong, but I'm of an opinion that modern bag seed is 99% from hermies.

Are you in the USA? If so, there's seed banks here that will take no hassle payments and deliver the beans.

I have been researching them. There is a lot. I have read that a lot of people have gotten males from some, some are reputable some are not.

So not really sure which one I will go with, any suggestions? I need to do more research.

I don't think I've ever had a hermie from a seed bank seed ... and I've grown many. The only males I've received are the ones that occasionally pop up when you grow regular seeds, but that's expected. For me, female seeds have always been female seeds, no hermies or males. I've shopped a variety of seed banks both here in the USA and Europe. I usually purchase breeder packs unless it's not offered and I have to have that particular strain.

There's many threads on this forum discussing where to purchase seeds. It's worth looking at a few.
