Hi all, I am about 3 weeks from the day I dropped the seeds in water.

seeds were germinated on June 25 and placed into rockwool cubes when I saw the root had broken through the seed.
on July 5 the rockwool cubes and seedlings were placed into my 3.5 dwc bucket.

I have not fed them yet, their water has been between ph 5.8-6.0 the entire time (I check it every two hours or so when I’m awake). I have only added hydroguard and some rapid start (yesterday at .5 tsp) to the water. Water is at 220 ppm.

I have my light (150W) at 30% intensity and it has been 18 inches away the entire time.

I’m worried the larger seedling has a yellowing color and the first set of leaves on the other two were also yellowing and are a bit crispy in parts.

should I be giving them food? Is my light too low? Is that why th3 yellowing is happening? I’ve been super on top of the ph so far, so I can’t really tell if it’s a ph issue.

The roots all look long and healthy as well which makes me more confused at what is happening and why the yellowing is occurring.

@Aqua Man not sure if you can provide any insight here :) I appreciate any help/thoughts you can give.

Hey brother... remove the tinfoil or cut out enough that all of the hydroton is exposed or you will get stem rot.

You need nutrients at this point 300 should do.

What nutrients,?

What source water and ppm?

Temp and humidity?

And yes back the light off until the issues get sorted.

Yikes I had no idea that the tinfoil was a bad idea. I thought that was a good way to prevent the light leaking through the top of the rockwool since my cubes were so big I couldn’t really fill in all the holes with hydroton.

I am using gh trio bottles. They recommend 1/4 tsp per gallon at this stage. I have a 3.5 gallon bucket. I put in 1/2 tsp total of each bottle earlier and the PPM is sitting at around 220. Should I add more nutrients?

Yeah slightly... are you using RO water?

The problem is its trading the humidity.

Nope, just tap water that sits out overnight that I’ve used in my last two grows without a problem. It definitely could be underfeeding since I didn’t give them any food until today and still barely gave them any

I think the issue was definitely underfeeding. They seem much happier today and have grown a ton in two days. The yellowing on the largest one is all gone.

Here is a photo from this morning. They are really taking off! I think they were hungry for sure. As of this Friday they will be 4 weeks from seed. Still no signs of male/female yet so I’m keeping a close eye on them. I’m going to keep them in veg through week 6 probably and then flip them. I’m hoping that by then any females will poke out a few pistils telling me they’re ready to go into flower, and any plants that haven’t shown me pistils I’ll just pull those and assume they’re males
