Building a fixture with an HLG-320H-C1050B and (16) EB Slim 3
When I power the (16) Eb Slim 3's with the Mean Well HLG-320H-C1050, I only get about 140-160watts out of the potential 320watts. The strips are wired in series. I really need to hit 320watts since Im building two of these to get to 600 watts to test against a Hortilux 1000watt eye.
The specs on the strip and driver are as following:
HLG-320H-C1050B ;
- Type : Constant Current
- Voltage ; Output 152 ~ 305V
- Current ; Output (Max) 1.05A
-Power (Watts) ; 320W
BXEB-L0590U-50E1500-C-C3 (EB 3 Slim)
Current - Test 700mA (Maxes out at 1700 mA)
Voltage - Forward (Vf) (Typ) 19.1V
Current - Max1.7A
16 strips would equal to =
(19.1V) * 16 strips = 305.6 FV
Running ( 1.05A * 305.6 ) = 320.88 watts. But for some reason I'm getting about 50% of the possible wattage which is 150-160watts.
If I'm not mistaken it looks like the driver is putting out or the strips are accepting 0.52A. (0.52A * 305.6) = 160watts
Current Adj Rate on the Driver is (525-1050mA) so for some reason the drivers are starting at 525mA since (525mA * 19.1) = 10.03 watts per strip. (16 strips) * (10.03) = 160.48
I tried using a potentiometer to see if I can turn them up but I can only turn them down. I would blame the driver but I have 2 that do the same wattage.
A potentiometer should not be required to get full brightness since by default it does it. I also cut the red/black cable shorter from led to driver to see if that was the problem but nothing. I also mounted the driver on the top of the heat sink like most designs but nothing, still im getting bout 0.52A
Thanks Ive attached some sample pics of the potential of these strips at 1.05mA from a previous (smaller) build. Any ideas would be appreciated. Im trying to build two of these for a total of 600 true watts. Since I have another driver I tried replicating the effect and I still get the same wattage from both so it might not be specific to the driver. I feel real lost after thinking I understood how to do these.
