I used a local Bokashi producers product last year and had great results. This year I found this same article and made EM-1 and Bokashi. I bought bran from the grocery store in small packages(like twenty of them) to make Bokashi. Should there be a cheaper way /place to buy the bran?

Yeah Bro good stuff, I get the wheat bran in 25lb saks for 11.00 at the Flour Mill, When you use Bokasi Garden Dregs in your soil its like winning the Microbe lottery, Ive preached about FPE's for awhile, Thats what our A1 Floravino was all about, Enzymes, We all kmow that the soil is alive and if we concentrate on whats below the surface we get amazing results above ground! If folks are to busy to make there own then get it from my boy here.

Bokashi
has two useful features: One is fertilization. Another is that microorganism propagated
through fermentation process enhances activities of plant roots. Microorganisms involved in fermentation include
Rhyzopus, Koji mold (Asperllus orizae), Bacillus natto, Bacillus subtilis, Lacticacid bacilli, Yeast, Actinomycetes, etc. They generate organic acids, amino acids, vitamins, plant hormones; and activate enzymes and minerals. These actions are believed to enhance healthy crop growth. Microorganisms propagated in bokashi discourage activities of pathogenic fungi, bacteria and nematodes.

Is there a website for the Flour Mill? because that price is a LOT better than what I get from <see below>

I use bulkfoods dot com.
My local Butte Creek Mill(search google) in Eagle Point, Oregon shows 1 1/2 lbs for $3.20. I will go check them out. Great grains there also. And the grain is ground in an ancient water powered mill.

I checked out the first link and have a couple of quick questions.
The ratio of EM to feed is 1:20. If you need to make a batch for 100 gallons of feed you would need 5 gallons of EM. What would be the best way to make 5 gallons seeing that a 1 qt jar is not large enough. 5 gallon bucket or a bunch of 1 gallon water containers???
The 50 lb bran Bokashi is enough for how much medium? Do you mix this in at transplant?

you would need 10 galls of Organic raw whole food milk, since we make em-1 by adding 10 parts milk to 1 part em-1 brew, so you need to do a 1 gall batch of step 1 with the declorinated water and rice, after 7 days strain that and add that whole gall to 10 galls milk, in a week remove the cheese layer, strain whats left, you should have 5 galls pure EM-1 to add to 95 galls of water to get you 20:1 ratio

I bought a 29 dollar delivered quart of em=1 on line made 5 gallons (way to much) of aem out of it. bought 40 pounds of wheat bran at the grain elevator. made Bokashi out of it. Each ounce of AEM makes a gallon of foliar spray or active water for plants. I only used half of the 5 gallons . Next year ,I'll only mix a gallon at a time. It goes for ever. Had 6 foot tomato plants .lol it's a wonder product. Ill never grow without it again. The neighbors want my magic tomato juice lol
