Hello all! First poster here. Had a question about about obtaining the correct cfm for my room size.

Assuming my room has 700 cu ft. Say I have an inline 8" rated for 550 cfm. I will have a carbon filter so I want to have at least 1000 cfm's for my grow room.

Here's where my question comes in. If I add another inline, will I benefit fully from it's cfm rating or because it's in the same exhaust line will it not work. I.E it will only push the air already in the ducting.

It's pretty much a waste of effort unless you have a really long run of duct..or venting through a bunch of hoods. You'll get more airflow..but it boils down to resistance.
If your intake is passive your gonna lose alot of air exchange..if you put in an intake fan..the out-take fan will work closer to it's rating.
