So I have read and overloaded on this method but still I proceed with it
Here is what I set up so far.
ps am in uk.
2 led lights viparspectra 450 reflector,metzi 480 in tent 120 x 120 x 180. Standard 6inch extractor.
1air pump 4 outlets with air stones.
4 food grade 5 gallon buckets net pots with clay balls as medium.
I heater with thermostat.
With possible thermostat plug for extractor 4 mini sub pumps.
And ionic feed with bloom boost, and black treacle instead of bud boost.
2 fast 2 vast seeds or northan light having decided yet.
Set up not compleate but getting there. Anything else I should add?.

Just be sure to keep your DWC water under 68F to prevent a anaerobic bacteria outbreak. Root rot (pyhtium) will kill your crop if the water quality suffers. May want to treat the water with something like Hydroguard or whatnot. I like to use H202 instead but people have good luck with various treatments. Change your water every 7-10 days or sooner if it starts to smell bad. Funny, sounds kinda nuts but I use my nose in the grow room a lot especially to check the water. Watch the roots and make sure they stay white.

Another thing DGP didn’t mention is to rinse your clay rock really well before use. Otherwise have fun can’t wait to see pics.

I agree the nose lets you know before u even look at roots. Nose is super important in a lot of aspects of growing.

Next time you may want to consider a smaller net pot. I use 6" ones because they are big enough to do the job and most of your critical root development takes place outside the net pot. The down side I found to using big net pots is the cost of all the hydroton to fill them. I cant see any advantage to using nets bigger than 6". However, of you just run one or two buckets it doesn't really matter. I throw away the hydroton after each cycle cause it is too hard to clean and sterilize to reuse.
