Short story long, Im trying to grow some off season plants (In socal) but I'm wondering something. Im currently vegging some inside and will be transitioning to outside. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience keeping plants in veg with non/low visable light spectrum. For example, I've heard that you can just wake plants up for an hour
During mid dark period to keep them from flowering (brake up the dark period in half). I'm wondering if this can be accomplished with infrared / UV, or if you actually need visable light to get them to wake up. Seems like they are typically awake by twilight when outside. I realize I should just try it out but I don't have any lights that are tunable like that and don't really want to buy moreights before asking around first. I don't want to use bright lights in the middle of the night since I have neighbors.
