It can be tricky for a week or two! If you put a one or 2 gallon plug of dense soil into a pot of loose soil! It takes a while for the roots to migrate out into the loose soil! In the meantime, the plant is drying out that root balll! So you’re watering around the drip line to encourage root expansion, and the plant is starting to fold from lack of water! Sometimes you have to kind of bottle water that root ball until the roots have expanded out and can take over! Those plugs sometimes don’t absorb much water from the sides or the top unless you do it slowly! Just two cents! I actually prefer to let the small pot dry out a bit, then pull the plant out, fluff up the roots real well and then plunk them into the big pot! But with a wet root ball that is hard to do so you have to pay attention to it after you transplant it!
