Fabric Pot inside larger fabric pot???

For a brief moment I thought about just popping a 1 gallon fabric pot into a 3 Gallon. My theory was the roots would just grow through the fabric pots like how we see the roots popping out the sides and bottom of the pot. But apparently this is a no go. Sounded too good to be true lol.

Cut the bottom (or just cut an X) out of the smaller one and let the roots grow down and into the middle of the other bigger bag. This lets you water the plant without putting the stem in direct contact with water that could bring rot and gives you a dam . If you aren't vegging long and the stalk isnt getting that big, I wouldn't think it is needed though.
