fan and filter

hi
please could anybody help,

i have an 8" exhaust fan and want to use a 6" filter. would this be ok without needing a fan speed controller?

my room is 650mm x 700mm x 1650

Thats a lot of fan for a 2x3 foot room. Lots of air and lots of noise. You can use it, but a speed controller will quiet it down to a tolerable level

defo need a speed controller, i have 6" fan with 5" filter and sounds like a jet turbine!!!

both my fans now run on plug in controllers i got off ebay, only bout £8 and work a treat, will try n sort a link out but search fan speed controller and you soon find it,
my veg room is 6" and only runs about 30% and is totally silent!
exhaust runs 80% and makes a racket but thats cos my fans about shagged lol
they work a treat for keeping my temps right and fans quiet!
