Fan leaves and harvest time

I don't know if this has been discussed, but I couldn't find any posts on it. I've read a few articles that say removing all fan leaves a week before harvest and just using sugar leaves for power will create better tasting, more powerful bud. Has anyone tried it and what were the results?

Ive tried a few diff "techniques" after 18+ yrs in dirt i feel like letting the plant finish with its fan leaves intact is good for the plant overall as it goes into senescence. I actually use those very fans as an indication of the plant entering ripeville.
