H&G Aqua Flakes

4.6-3.4-9.9-2-1 (guessing at CaMg)
1.125 g/ml
@ 6 ml/L: 310-100-555-205-68 (224 ppm pure calcium nitrate)
EC 2.95 mS
10L stock solution 100:1 concentration

KNO3 mass = 1110.2 g
Ca(NO3)2 mass_yara = 1080.1 g (1320.8 g pure calcium nitrate)

MgSO4 mass = 684.6 g
KH2PO4 mass = 439.7 g

@ 3 ml/L 155-50-277-103-34
plus 65 g shooting powder 0-49-25: 155-189-412-113-34 (132 ppm pure calcium nitrate)
EC 2.44 mS

KNO3 mass = 451.6 g
Ca(NO3)2 mass_yara = 595.9 g (779.3 g pure calcium nitrate)

MgSO4 mass = 342.3 g
KH2PO4 mass = 830 g

or Aqua Flakes at half strength, plus 49 g MKP. you can play with the ppm as you see fit.

Could we put all the formulas together and send them to Daniel so that he can include them in HydroBuddy ? That way they would be easy to access through the online database, right ? :)

I just picked up some 80% humic acid and wondered if it can be mixed into our ferts and at what rate.

There is a disclaimer that says not to mix it into a concentrate that has calcium nitrate in it. So I am guessing you could mix it into your "B" solution.

any ideas on what rates to mix it into our concentrates?
same thought may apply to fulvic acid/kelp mixtures

oh and I started using crysmatics bloom formula on a few soil plants in a side by side with aqua flakes. Girlfriend is on vacation (she has my camera) but when she comes back in a week I will post pics in the diary section. Soil grow, but really the soil has been used now for 5 runs, and most nutes are probably none existant in it. The damn stuff still keeps producing for me and I average 19 ozs dry off a 600 in a 10 week cycle. Not the best I have ever heard of but still pretty darn decent. After 2 weeks there does not seem to be any difference between the 2 nutes.

Rant on AN but has useful info too...

Advanced Nutrients is selling Epsom Salt as a bloom enhancer, then on their label they admit is is just Epsom salt.. Now I see why Fatman was so pissed off, this is just outright theft against the less knowledgable..

FIRST, understand what Mg does and that in both cases Advanced Nutrients is telling the truth.. Not my words, just a quick net search
Magnesium is a component of the chlorophyll molecule and serves as a cofactor in most enzymes.

KRAFTY WORDING!! source: here
Bud Factor-X – creates superior quality yields by triggering the plant to create more resins and terpanoids. The bioactive components and cofactors stimulate this natural process. Higher quality harvests are created by enticing the plants inherited response to produce and secrete essential oils. Plants also become less likely to fall victim to insect attacks and flower diseases while able to maintain the photosynthetic process at increased rates under intensive growing conditions.

Then on their label they outright say it is for Magnesium Deficiency, which yeah clearly .5% Mg by weight derived from Magnesium Sulfate is for Mg deficiency or adding Mg.. Where's the Sulfate by the way, you telling me the purified it? geez man that is bad guys, see attached PDF

it's bud factor X because 1L weighs 900 g!! it's SPECIALLY *designed* for such a wide variety of systems...and it's GUARANTEED to solve magnesium deficiencies! the thing that gets me is that they use mag nitrate in their base nutes, which is an expensive salt, to lower the sulfur content...then sell you factor x and bud candy.

fwiw, there is a subtle difference when adding bud xl and drip clean to aqua flakes. i assume H&G hides the micros in algen extract. it comes out closer to 4.65-3.7-10 (even closer to connie!). 314-109-562-197-68 NPKCaMg.

10L A/B 100:1 stock solution
KNO3 1099.8 g
Ca(NO3)2_yara 1038.3g

KH2PO4 479.2 g

budboy, i don't expect ANY difference between aqua flakes and connie at the same EC. i'd be more interested in seeing you cut the 'aqua flakes' fert by 40% and adding .5 g/L MKP three weeks from harvest, and 1 g/L the last two weeks. what do you think? PBP is 0.15% humic acid....i'd guess you should add 2 g/L of concentrate.

edit: i just realised shooting powder's application rate.
week 6: 155-133-378 with 0.4875 g/L (8-15.7-23.4)
week 7-8: 155-216-480 with 0.975 g/L (8-25.5-29.7)

so week six is basically 1-2-3 and weeks 7-8 are 1-3.2-3.7.

Crysmatic....So far I do not see any difference. Well except that it is pennies vs. dollars.

One plant is a tiny bit taller but its only because it was put into bloom a tiny bit bigger. If you look at the bud sites though, the individual buds look identical.

I think I will add the humic into my B concentrate for the weeks beyond 3rd week, until week 7. Then the overdrive/connie mix for 2 weeks then flush.
I looked at my calander and I am currently at day 21.

I am running 4L of A and 4L of B in my concentrate quantities. Since BPB is a one part and .15%, I will add 16 grams to my 4L of B solution.

Actually just rechecked the math and for 8L the humic acid is 12grams. But then again its 80% humic...so 16 grams may be exactly right. Man you were on the money Crysmatic!!!

thanks for posting the percentage of Humic for us. -BB

I think Pure Blend Pro and many of Botanicare products are Organic, so I don't think we can simply plug them in with our normal formulas to get a real organic replication since we are using chemical ferts

EC meters and ppm's.

The res was 1270 ppm, added 100 ppm of K with potassium chloride (0-0-60) and then it was 1550, almost 300 ppm.

16.5 grams KCI in 22 gallons of solution.

I've been pretty much ignoring the actual mass of the chemical, is that a big mistake?

Last time I added same amount of KCI and ppm went from 1370 to 1540. Less than 200.

I started reversing Botanicare and suspected the same thing, then decided to give up until I am ready to start learning organics.

Proposed project Copy Advanced Nutrients Primo Line UP the whole thing week by week using all of what they have to add for those weeks

I can't find a product list by week so I have to look at all their stuff one by one to see which weeks to use it in. I will sit down tonight and do it by hand so I can find out their week by week recommendation, I am going to follow it with much cheaper chemicals and no chelated micros or silicate.

My room: 1600-2600w in an 8x5 area, I have 2600w there now but I wanna pull one out it is too much. 1500PPM C02 (natural gas I could go higher) I am planning on trying 85F lights on and 65F lights out.

Purposed start is about 3 weeks out, veg plants are currently being vegged on Dyna-Gro "Grow" and it is all Platinum OG Kush.. "Everything I grow has the last two names OG KUSH hehehe"

check out advancednutrient's site, and find their nutrient calculator.

at their recommended 4 ml/L of each connie a and b, the ppm is 410-144-680...which is probably why people say that connie is hot! the recipe i posted was at 2 ml/L and i still get over 2.0 mS using 10 ml/L of concentrate. maybe don't take their calculator at face value...

it's true that PBP is mostly organic. however, CNS17 and Power Flower are fully synthetic. PBP is their entry level line, while Power Flower is their 'ultra premium' line.

200-88-332-28-208 sensi a and b, week one
164-116-360-28-161 sensi with big bud liquid, weeks 2-4
200-125-492-28-208 sensi with big bud powder, weeks 5,6
Or something like that, depends how long you want to flush, and what day of the week it is because the label might change tomorrow. I've been watching greenthumbdanny growing the white, I think he is just using Sensi a and b with hammerhead and moab.
200-139-528-28-208 sensi, 5 ml gallon hammerhead weeks 2-5
107-125-334-14-104 sensi half strength, HH 2.5 ml gallon, 1.25 ml (gallon) Moab, weeks 5 and 6, flush 7 and 8. True Grit and others also seem to do well with that. As always double check my math. And he must be using something for more Mg, probably some cal/mag.

connie combined is 6.7-5.1-10
convert P205 and K20 to P and K,
5.1/2.3=2.2174 10/1.2=8.3333

4x.067x1000=268.0 N
4x.022x1000=88.0 P
4x.083x1000=332.0 K

I must be missing something in the conversion to ppm.

Looks like all the AN stuff is P2O5 and K2O also, do I need to convert that somehow?

firstly, i have been using 5-4-10. second, multiply by density which is 1.025 g/ml.

however, the AN site as of today lists connie as 5-5-10-3.2-0.81. isn't that the second change in one year? and the nute calculator hasn't changed... can anyone verify the density of new connie? 410-179-681-262-98. sulfur must be really low, because they use mag nitrate and mag phosphate instead of mag sulfate :(
