LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities say police and federal agents in Nevada are serving search warrants at several locations in an investigation of medical marijuana clinics in and around Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police Officer Jacinto Rivera said no arrests were made Wednesday in the raids conducted as part of a federal investigation of medical marijuana dispensaries in the area.

U.S. attorney's office spokeswoman Natalie Collins told The Associated Press that search warrants and supporting affidavits stemming from what she called "an ongoing law enforcement operation" were sealed by federal court order.

They have been popping up like 7-11's. All that dispense marijuana for a "donation" have been doing so illegally since they opened. They have patients damn near convinced they are legal but that and a 60.00 buck "donation" can get you out the door with whatever they have. It's all been turned over to the feds.
Here's a bit more info.

LAS VEGAS -- Federal agents and Metro police Wednesday raided businesses around the Las Vegas valley that are associated with medical marijuana.

A joint task force with agents from the DEA, IRS, and Metro took evidence from The Happiness Consultants, THC at 810 E. Sahara on Wednesday. That business is licensed as a medical marijuana consultant business, which means they can help people apply for medical marijuana. The agents took out boxes of paperwork.

The clinics have been under scrutiny for months. Earlier this year, the 8 News NOW I-Team went undercover and staff member at THC told our photographer that a doctor on site would have no problem writing a recommendation for marijuana even though there was no medical justification.

Under Nevada law, there are no legal ways to actually buy or sell marijuana, even for medical purposes. Dispensaries are illegal. Those who need the drug for a medical condition must grow it themselves.

Police also raided Nature's Way at 1591 Desert Inn Road and the Salvation Haven-Cannabis Dispensary at 2255 Renaissance Dr.
