@Evil Monkey yeah man I just hate to waste a whole plant for seeds. They take too long to grow. Lol. But I do have some strains I want keep going other than cloning. I want all females cause I've had a few grows that take months only to find out it's a crappy Male. LolI’m in this with ya....I’ve never asked that myself. Call me a dumb ass
So I've been throwing around the idea of using colloidal silver on a flowering a female to get pollen for female seeds. My question is, can I just spray it on one of the lower branches making sure not to get it on other areas and will the buds still be ok on the non sprayed areas or will it affect the plant as a whole. Also, on female I pollinate, can I again just pollinate a lower branch and just get seeds on that branch and have the rest of the buds be ok. As long as the pollen doesnt get away from me? Haha
I drink colloidal silver from time to time,it could be even beneficial for health if you don't use it too often and too long, kills bacteria and helps many diseases connected with inflammation.I guess they mean when it burns?
@SmithsJunk thank you for the info. I'm gonna go ahead and try this out. I've had a few turn hermie on me naturally and that was a bummer. But, price you gotta pay to replenish stock. Thank you sir for the information. Its very much appreciated.I'm spraying colloidal on specific branches of two plants. The first is showing no pollen flowers. The second, the whole plant herm'd. Now the third plant that's the same strain as second, herm'd, and l didnt spray it. I tried to shield but maybe it still misted on to the third (It's possible that it hasn't worked on any and the herm'd are due to a cold shift in outdoor temps). I grew the strain of the second & third plants outdoors this year and found no herming or nanners.
When I researched the subject I found that a lot of people said it herm'd the whole plant even with shielded, targeted spraying.
As far as smoking the buds on a colloidal silver sprayed plant, a lot of people in the know say not to smoke any of the buds on a treated plant. But people take take much higher concentrations of colloidal silver orally than what is sprayed on the plants with no adverse effects. I know for a fact that silver is non-toxic and I have yet to see any scientific evidence to back the claims that smoking treaded buds or other buds on a treated plant as harmful. Aside from actual evidence, I've found no one who's explained why they even presume it's harmful. I have read remarks from many people who say they've smoked the buds regularly with zero harmful effects. The condition that turns a person's skin gray appears to require someone guzzling colloidal silver on a regular basis.
Supposedly, silver may be harmful when combined into certain compounds. But again, no one is saying what those compounds are and if they have anything to do with cannabis. I don't care anymore that Cervantes says not to do it in the Cannabis Encycopedia because there's nothing else he says to back it up. He's got a lot to say about a lot of pesticides that he doesn't back up with facts as well. Making claims based only in personal opinion or hearsay seems to be the hippie way. I own the book and am starting to wonder whether I should take advice from someone who can't spell.
I'm starting to think the whole claim is absolute BS and may have all come from one growing expert's baseless opinion.
I'd like someone to answer this question with actual facts, not opinions or second hand opinions. Tell me why, exactly, right?
Yes, you can just pollinate a single branch..I use a q-tip or mini paint brush to "paint" the pollen where I want it.So I've been throwing around the idea of using colloidal silver on a flowering a female to get pollen for female seeds. Caution: turn off all fans for at least an hr..LMAO
If you use CS on ANY part of a plant..The plant can't be used for any type of ingestion..

From my readings..the entire plant is to be tossed and NOT consumed in any fashion (no hash, or butter etc.)..lots of google info supporting this.I still wouldn’t smoke the branch i sprayed tho. Just to be safe.
Drinking silver suspended in water and sucking silver to your lungs can’t be the same.
Other branches and buds should be ok i guess.
Yeah i’m on the fence cause some people say they consume the unsprayed branches. From my readings..the entire plant is to be tossed and NOT consumed in any fashion (no hash, or butter etc.)..lots of google info supporting this.

IDK, but I would not smoke CS treated anything..In fact I wouldn't drink it either..That's me, and if it's BS..no problem; since like @CrimsonEcho I have more than enough untreated Cannabis to keep me and mine for a Loooong time.. I hate to say this, but since I can't legally give away more than an ounce of flower to anyone..I have to throw away more weed than I care to think about..The bright side is that life is too short to smoke mids, or lowers if one doesn't have to..OK, I'm going to start by saying, if I come across as irritated, it's not at you.
You didn't answer the question. You said the same thing I read everywhere "It's not safe, don't smoke it", then they go on to say... "There's are so many sources that support this." Then they either don't provide links or give a plethora of links with a crossection of bloggers, forum posts, experts... blah, blah, blah...
...but not a one say why it's harmful, refer to an expert who says the exact same thing, say it's the grey skin sh*t, or give a link to a paper or study that says something or other to do with silver but has no bearing on the conversation at hand.
My question is, "What chemical/biological reaction is happening in the plant to make a non-toxic metal toxic? People can safely ingest many times the amount of colloidal silver required to herm one branch. I'm beginning to think it's some bullsh*t urban legend.
I recently started composting them, too much weed for one lonely guy :)IDK, but I would not smoke CS treated anything..In fact I wouldn't drink it either..That's me, and if it's BS..no problem; since like @CrimsonEcho I have more than enough untreated Cannabis to keep me and mine for a Loooong time.. I survived DDT, and other shit in the 50's and 60's..not going to tempt fate with CS when there is absolutely no need....
