as a director of provisions for a center in mid michigan i'd say looks nice trim job needs help. We have a strict testing policy but much more open selecting process 150 to 200 is the max anyone can afford to pay and still compete with the black market. Hand trim and good cure go along way rushing meds to market will never fetch the ticket you want.
Here's what the flatlanders have to deal with down state.

And like I said these places are 80 miles from me. Wasn't digging the drive with a lb. How do you guys feel about driving with that amount?
Never carry any more than 15 oz and only if you are a full loaded caregiver with 5 patients and a card for yourself.

Proper cure, taste, and smell goes along ways. the content of the nug it's self has value in the way it was cultivated. Pure organics i label as such even if another caregiver has a clean sample can't call it organic. Pesticides and molds need to be verified as well during testing as well.

Bill Murry, what is the one issue that stands out for turning away product? Do you test the product for pesticides and molds or do you have vendor send it out for testing?

high quality clean test not a super high but great trim and cure.

#1 and #2 would be mold and pesticides you just can't play that game any more i see a lot of down state stuff that turn charcoal back when burned flying off the shelf's. We do use Iron labs but still find their lack of accreditation with any international ISO standards for labs testing facilities to be worry some. Most farmer we know test either on their own or we can provide sample pick up from our location. We don't waste any ones time, if the first things you look for don't pass the eye and smell test we would kindly thank you for sharing, but we just wouldn't have a spot for it of our shelves. That's not to say its not good but not medical quality with the other farmers in the area. Michigan has always been rural farming state breading lots of old timers and new blood that have changed the way we stock our shelves.

There are three different kinds of meds as far as the dispensaries are concerned. As Mr. Murray mentions above, the bottom of the list is material that will test as contaminated with either mold or pesticides. If you can't get that right, don't bother applying - retail establishments won't do that deal.

That leaves two grades, the stuff they can live without and the stuff they can't live without. The vast, vast majority falls in the live without category and the dispensaries are flooded with that stuff, day in and day out. The good owners lament the steady foot traffic of pathetic growers showing up with sub-standard material and fear earth-bounding fragile ego's with business model pricing schedules. "Postal" can describe many reactions from closeted growers who have no idea of standards and value.

The more nefarious dispensaries use the situation to low-ball growers, and in fact that seems to be the standard of business at this level. They see so much traffic it is almost a game where they throw ridiculously low numbers out on a dare, seeing who is desperate enough to accept any pittance whatsoever. It sucks, no one goes home with a soul - but thats life in the fast lane!

There are ways to fight off the competition, like quality strains, extensive libraries, consistent supply - all will ingratiate you with smart shops. Growing better helps tremendously, if your goods look better, smell stronger and taste like more…

There is the best level. Not all potheads are dispensary owners, but all (good) dispensary owners are POTHEADS. If you have the meds that they have to have, well, who's the boss then? When it's really a drug, there is an innate disadvantage on the buyers side...
