the force is strong with her. I used a new wound dressing I made for the grey hongas that we got after the visit from the Death head Hawkmoth larva. The grub damage from eating was OK because the plant is so big, a few leaves missing were never going to be an issue, but there are clearly substantial grey mold spores to be found in the frass matter. Anyway, the long and short is I have been looking to test this product I made to arrest the spread of stem based infection. It worked OK to be honest, but the infected bark began to peel away on treatment, i just cut it with a scalpel and burned the matter. The stem inner suffered zero cross infection and so the mold was arrested in the outer layers and contained within the inital spread site. I removed a branch and leaf matter for analysis. I found no viable spores from the grey mold we sampled after treatment and none in the media samples either. it wont repair the visual damage, but it will stop the mold from further infection on all samples tested to date on most common sclerotinia mold infection of stems and branches across most woody plants.
it has gone to EBIC now we wait on approval or not. it is simply a cream which itself is based on cold pressed avocado oil and flax with the addition of several antibiotic bacteria which we have grown up on the oil base with comfrey and then fermented using some further pro biotics :-)
