Good morning, your plants look great! I am also in your state, if you have questions tag me in and I'll help if I can, best wishes!I just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce myself. My name is Amy and I’m a 52-year-old recreational and now medical consumer. SSDI doesn’t really leave excess for non-covered medical expenses, so I would like to grow my own. There is a true joy in watching my plants grow. These are from homegrown seeds, growing outside on a balcony in fabric pots, gender not yet determined. Growing in Fox Farm Ocean Forest and perlite. They just started getting some nutrients (half recommended feed of Neptune’s Harvest, Fox Farm Liquid Plant Food Big Bloom and Grow Big). They will transition from Grow Big to Tiger Bloom for flower. Hopefully I’ll make my worst mistakes on these babies and not on plants from feminized seeds. I live in the Boston area.
Good morning Amy and welcome to the Farm. 63yr old here and recreational user also medical user. I grow my own also and save a ton of money. You have some great looking plants growing there, doing a great job. I used Fox Farm nutes when i first started and please watch how much you use. I only gave them a 1/4 of what they said to give, because it its strong. I switched to another nute brand and only use it with a little cal-mag. I think one of the most important things to know is how and when to water. Once you get that under control, its a lot easier to deal with food for them. Good luck hand have fun.

Thank you! I’m using perlite specifically to try and aid me in not overwatering. Right now, it’s twice a week, half the amount specified every other water. I feel like I need to let them really get dry at least once so I can recognize that. I’m filling 2 2-gallon buckets with tap water and it sits out a few days before being used. I’m still waiting on pH meter and pH up and down. I’d love to make my own super soil and much rather use dry nutrients that I can work into the surface as needed.
Thank you so much!Good morning, your plants look great! I am also in your state, if you have questions tag me in and I'll help if I can, best wishes!
Thank you, sir.Welcome to the farm @amekins
Hence the question I asked about determining gender in its own thread because they really do need to be separated soon and o don’t want to transplant the males.each plant needs its own container, better separate those soon.
Absolutely. I was hoping I could sex them first but it doesn’t look that way.Welcome to the farm, youngster...agree with @GNick55 on separating your plants, looks like your off to a good start.
My experience is that, sex doesn’t reliably show until second week of bloom.Absolutely. I was hoping I could sex them first but it doesn’t look that way.
Yes Dans correct i treat males like a gift from JAH , make your own seed bank . Od .My experience is that, sex doesn’t reliably show until second week of bloom.
Dan is plenty...Thank you, sir.
This is like horrible social experiment where I have to choose which children live and which dieMy experience is that, sex doesn’t reliably show until second week of bloom.
I actually have some feminized auto seeds arriving soon. I’m wondering if you think it’s worth it to try and germinate one or two of those at this point? With autos they’re going to flower sooner anyway so I’d have best period for outdoor veg growth at least, right?Good morning, your plants look great!
