First grow questions on cabinet

I'm planning my first grow. The space is a cabinet 2x2x6. I want to use a 600 watt light with a vented 6 inch hood. The real problem is smell. How do I vent the room. I was thinking 3 or so ports at the bottom of the cabinet for air intake and just leave one of the sides of the vented hood open for the intake inside the room but for the exhaust do I just exhaust the air into the cabinet with a carbon filter on the end, or exhaust to the outside of the cabinet with a carbon filter on the end. Any help or suggestions would help. The grow will be soil. The room is a little short, any good strain recs.

Most cabinets that you can by are set up with the carbon filter on the exit. Also, most have the lights sealed from the rest of the cabinet. The lights are air cooled separately from the the main cabinet. So you would have an air intake for both the lights and the growing area, but the exit for the one on the growing area would have the carbon filter on it.

This is based on my experience with BCNL cabinets.
