About one month into my first grow, so far so good I think. Faced a small ph issue around week 3 but corrected it and some great progress following. Keeping everything real simple so far.

I purchased this cool c02 emitting “mushroom bag” for the grow tent and while I don’t have a meter to measure the c02, the plant seems to really love it.

its looking a bit small but healthy, just a tip for you for your next grow: don’t water just around a circle of your seedling, soak the medium completely and wait for it to dry out. when you water just around the seedling roots don’t grow out as they should because they’ll not grow into dry medium.

It all looks good. The idea of watering the center is to keep the tap root going down to get it established.

On all plants starting, I always water in a radius around the plant equivalent to the height of the plant if I'm not up potting in equivalent size nursery bags for the size of the plant.

No use over watering and letting dry out and flushing nutes your plant isn't using. If you are using coco and you over water and let it dry out, your salts will build up and it is hell flushing out all those hard dried up salts.

I've also seen the opposite effect of not fully watering the pots when in full flower which inturn cased the plants to look like they were hungry. He feed the plants 2 more times then called me. When I got there and fully saturated the pots and got 2 gallons of run off, his EC was at 9 from all the build up.

Only a couple things I can recommend,;

Your about to go into flower so what ever your feeding it, you might want to start half the required dose of your flower supplements as a Jumpstart with half of what ever you used for veg. If your going organic you need to start now with a top dress of 2-8-4 or 3-8-4 nutes equivalent. It will take 1.5 to 2 weeks for it to kick in. Add it again in full strength 30 days later to the top 2 inches of soil.

Cal mag supplements like calmag plus once a week till week 10.

Bud enhancer or if going organic 1 Tbls of unsulfered black strap molasses per gallon of water once a week till week 10

Keep your humidity up around 55-60% till week 3 of flower, then drop it to 50% till week 5 then drop to 45-48% to finish.. This being your first grow. I doubt you have looked into vpd or have the equipment. Those numbers will help your yield without getting you into trouble.

Guessing you don't have a par meter for your light. Don't trust in any manufacturer recommend settings. Either learn to read your plants or at the lest download a lux meter for your phone. Using lux, 3000-5000 for seedlings, 5000-30000 for veg 30000-60000 in flower without CO2.
To much light will dwarf your plants and to little they will stretch with skinny limbs and large node spacing. You can actually hit them with intense light between week 2 and 3 of flower for a couple days and shorten your node spacing on your tops for huge colas.

This is all my opinion for grows so take it as that. I've been growing and breeding autos for the last 5 years. Photos I've been growing for 34 years.

That very light you have we just used to cross autos of white widow and a gorilla glue with an orange terp which has been a 4 year project.

Thanks for the tip! It’s size was worrying me but it’s health and bushyness had me thinking it was just gonna be a pretty squat plant. First time growing so I’m just getting use to what things should look like, always scowering the internet for different comparison photos lol

Thanks for the wealth of knowledge, what would you say causes new growth to be very thin? It’s definitely started flowering, and is currently on week five of what will probably be eleven to twelve week grow.

Northern Big Bud Auto
Coming up on week 8 of an estimated 12weeks.

I’m starting to think I stunted it at some point, it’s very short, it seams healthy for the most part, except a few leaves with damage. Nothing serious as far as I can tell. I did remove some leaves a couple times and I’ve read with autos that it’s not the best idea but have also read varying opinions to the contrary. I’m including pictures to give you an idea on size, what’s y’all’s opinion? Is it short? Would you say it’s because something I did? Fed her epsoma plant tone during veg, and am currently feeding her fox farm big bloom, I’ve used both at like a quarter the recommendation with it being an autoflower. I top dressed a couple times with worm castings as well during veg and even used mycos micorizae (sp). Thoughts?

Just a quick update. I took the net off because I had the move the whole setup out of my attic room, started getting to hot to handle. Now I’m Trying to solve my curling leaf tip issue, finally addressingg what I think is a cal mag issue. Other than that it’s progressing as well as it can, definitely a learning experience so far. I’ll be far more prepared for my next one! Still nothing more pretty than a flowering lady🥰

Still not seeing many amber trichomes, still some clear on some flowers, but mostly cloudy though! Most the leaves turned yellow rather quickly, I thought I was fixing the problem and then WAM. But I’m right on week 10 of this auto so I’m just riding it out with water and just letting it do what it will. Any ideas how long till choppy chop based on the macro shots?

Anyhow, the flowers look so frosty and smell super citrusy, and I made use of a rather nice jewelers loupe. Purchased a huge haul of grow stuff off a lady on Facebook and I’m making use of all the gadgets, so far combining my love of photography and bud lol, and you know I’m already planning my next grow! Peace!

Did the choppy chop, might have been just a touch early but I don’t like super sedating bud anyhow so I was okay with minimal amber trichomes. Overall pretty pleased with my first attempt in so many years and first time with actual grow equipment, not a bunch of cfls in some homemade Rubbermaid bin grow box lol. Now it’s hanging to dry before being fully bucked off the stems and put into jars for curing, the wait after the long wait is the worst!
