so i've got a mylar tent its around 2'x4'x7'
i'm using 23 or 26w cfls have 16 of them only using 8 (though i was wondering if i should up to 12 ) only have 4 clones that just came in today, got a 6" duct fan on top and another small clip on one inside the tent, air purifier right out side the tent as well(all runnin in my closet)

my questions...
-how long shud i rock those cfls?
-how high from the clones shud they be?
-light cycle? 24/0 i read but for how long?
-nutrients? ive only done hydro b4 w/ my older bro so clueless here
- also i was thinking of setting up a tank to auto-water, ne suggestions?

p.s.
all diff strains got alien kush x mass super skunk, then sour diesel tres kush and p dawg(tres kush x hp13) dono if that matters but figured i shud put it somewhere

Hey DanksDoc, welcome to THCfarmer!

Here's my 2 cents, from one novice grower to another:

CFLs have poor penetration, meaning you should put your clones as close to them as possible without restricting their upward growth. 4-6" from the lights should be good.

As for using 8 vs. 12 CFLs: 8 should work for now (depending on the size of your clones), then add some more in a couple weeks as your girls get bigger and need more lumens. The rule of thumb for CFLs is: the more the better as long as you can control the temperature to be <85-90F.

24/0 light cycle should be OK, but I like doing 16/8 or 20/4 during veg to save a bit on electricity and I've read that plants actually grow stronger and healthier when they have a small dark cycle during veg. Whatever you decide, keep this light cycle running until they get big enough that you want to begin flowering, then switch the lights to 12/12 (invest in an electrical timer for your power outlet).

As for nutrients, right now your clones are craving a fertilizer with high Nitrogen. I go with Fox Farm liquid nutrients, you can buy all 3 bottles for ~$50 online or at any hydro shop, Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Grow Big has a lot of N and after a week or so, you should start adding some Big Bloom also to keep your micronutrients and phosphorous levels good. Tiger Bloom is for after you switch to flowering, and has higher P (Phosphorous) and K (Potassium).

Not sure about the auto-watering question. I would be curious to hear if you get one working though!

Post some pics of your setup if you can and you'll get more detailed answers. I have a pretty similar indoor CFL closet setup about 1 month also in the Micro Grow section.

Peace and good luck,

The Wiz

Got them planted in some fox farm's happy frog, only put them under 10 cfls though. As for the auto pump no longer going to do that but I found a good way too.

Got some pics coming soon in class atm but they look like they are doing good.

I'm pretty sure 18/6 or 20/4 is a way better idea than 24/0. Roots need the dark hours to grow.
They do look healthy though, how long are you keeping them going before switching to 12/12?

Edit - Damn Dog!!! lol
