First Outdoor Grow (WhiteWidow)

OK so this is my first outdoor grow. I've got an 8x8 plot set up with 3 holes dug with miraclegrow organic soil in them. Havent planted yet, or even germinated for that matter. Located in Idaho, im wondering if theres anything special or important i need to know..

if you guys have some tips or ideas.. shoot em at me

A friend of mine who grows outdoors, suggested that you get plastic 5gal pots, cut off the bottoms and put them into the holes, then put your seeds into those pots, but I'm not sure, I'd wait for the more experienced users to help you with this. :)
