First real grow: Purple Widow, White Widow x Big Bud, AUTO Roadrunner, All organic.

hey yo

seeds arrived safe n sound. thanks attitude! germed 8 of the 17 seeds and had 7/8 pop for me. i started 1 female seeds White widow x Big bud, 1 dinafem auto roadrunner, and 6 Purple widows. only one purple widow didnt take. which works out perfectly fine with me.

i am vegging at 20/4 due to the roadrunner. i put that straight into a 3gal grow bag with about 1.5gal of dirt mixture because i have read numerous times to start autos in what its going to finish in. it is currently in a FFOF base soil with top soil/peatmoss/worm castings/perlite additions.

the purple widows and ww x bb are still in their starters. the soil they are in is a topsoil/peatmoss/worm castings/extra perlite mixture.

i have fed with nothing but organic teas so far or ph'd water with a few drops of thrive alive and mollassas.

i also have three bagseed going in the FFOF mixture. i plan to veg until the roadrunner is done then flip the bagseed and cuttings i take from each other other 5 purple widows. by that point i hope to have a 2x4 veg room so i will put the main 6 widow hybrids i got in there untill i figure out the sex of the cuttings then go from there. i plan to keep atleast one good mother from my purple widow, and have my fingers crossed that the bb x ww mother will be a winner.

right now everything is under 6 4' flouros but will be switching to my MH/HPS in prob like week or so. i just want the lil babies to grow a lil more before i stress them out with my MH. only a 400 watt tho but still. then after prob like week n half switch to my HPS bulb.

9-28 update

yo yo. heres how they all lookin as of right now. the biggest three are the bagseed. everything else is now at the two week old from seed stage. originaly i thought that one of my purple widows didnt pop. but after a few extra days it poked its head through the dirt and gave me a smile. 100% germination rate on all of the seeds. pretty good.

the first pic is of the three bagseed and how they are looking. they are about a week and half older than the rest. they are starting to show horizontal growth now.

pic 2-6 are of purple widows. most are showing more vigorous growth, and only three fingered leafs. couple are showing slower growth but with already 5 fingerd leafs at the 2nd node. also, those had weird singled fingerd leafs grow on the first node. they were like wet looking and folded in. not sure what it could be. you can kinda see it in the pics. the three bagseed also showed this, but grew out of it now and looking fantastic. so im not worried.

pic 7 is my female seeds white widow x big bud. very slow initial growth. seemed stuck for a few days with no signs of new growth. now its starting to go though.

pic 8 is of the dinafem roadrunner auto. weird initial growth again. its starting to grow out of it, but you can see all the leafs are different sizes going around the plant.

pic 9 is the purple widow that took about 5 days to germinate. it is under flouros still. unlike the rest which have been put under 400 watt MH.

oh, and the bagseeds are all off center of their pots because i have them tied down with a lil wire stake i bent into a hook. going to top them few days after this 4th node fills out a bit more.

and i think all the weird growth is the soil i am using. maybe too much for the little ones? its just fox farm ocean forrest, with extra top soil, worm castings, perlite.

yesterday they were watered with 6.6 ph h20 with thriveAlive green organic, calmag +, a little mollassas, and few drops of super thrive.

what the heck is this bro? is that your exhaust fan? being blocked by a door and used in this manner will put stress on the fan its not designed for and could start a nice fire. I recommend you get a fan designed for what your using it for right away.

10-3 update

another week gone by. another veg room shot. only uploading one pic of the whole room. my cam is dead. had to use phone.

during the last week the bagseed plants; one was topped, one was fimmed, and another not touched. all three are tied down and producing multiple bud sites now.

purple widows; one topped, one fimmed, 4 left untouched(3 were not mature enough to cut yet)

next sunday i switch from MH to HPS...

I have auto roadrunner going also it is midway thru flowering and doing excellent it is under 24 7 under a 1500w hortilux blueas far as simple to grow it could not be easier to raise also have haze auto and it is not bad either seems like they might yield ok I am testing autos right now for my patient will try to let you know how they end up will also try topost photos thanks for starting thread later U.Y.

10-24 update

well it has been a few weeks since i have given a update. everything has blown up since last post.

unfortunatly out of my 6 purple widows, i am left with only one female(and im still not totally sure). i have discarded 3 of the males so far which showed their balls very quick. bout 2 weeks ago did this. i am left with two very nice males with the same pheno. the two males that i have for sure are still in 1 gallon pots. they, im sure, are beginning to get a lil root bound. i transplanted the hopeful female last night out of its 1 gallon and the roots were nuts. the males are bigger so i can only imagin what their root mass is looking like. i will probly repot into gallon in half grow bags in a week or two and be done with it. i am going to collect the pollen from them for future breeding. but not looking for them to get very big as they are a sativa hybrid that can get to 9ft. gotta keep the pot small for now...

of my three bagseed i planted, i have two left. one was male. no reason i should keep a male bagseed plant with the amount of space i have. these have been LST'd from the get go and i am very thrilled with what i have gotten to at this point with them. was my first attempt at LST which was the reason why i did it with the bagseeds and not the higher quality strains in fear i would f*ck up. not very hard to get the hang of. i did it all with fuzzy pipe cleaner thinggys. they are deff nice and short indica dom strain that has alot of nice bud sites that will im sure provide me with a decent amount of bud. i will be flowering these two when my auto flower is done...

my dinafem roadrunner auto is doing great. im loving the plant structure with this plant. the top area looks promising for a nice large top cola. im about 2, 2.5 weeks into flower i would assume with this one. prob closer to 2. i would know for sure if i would have been paying more attention. it has been fed one feeding with fox farm tiger bloom and big bloom. tomorrow or next day being second bloom feeding.

then i have the female seeds x-line Big bud x White widow. now this one is special. at about the second node it stopped growing for a good 5-7 days and vertical growth. just was fattening up the leaves at that point. then all of a sudden four stems started shooting up. not once did i top or fim to get this. did it on its own. i have since transplanted it into 3.5 gallon bucket and topped two of its four stems. now i have 6 tops growing with two of the larger ones left alone. also, its growing with instead of two main fan leaves coming off stem at each node, its three! very unique plant. when i topped it, i used both cuttings and put them in rapid rooters and are now just starting to pot roots through.


but everything now has been transplanted into 3.5 gallon pots with holes made in them for drainage then stuck in 5 gallon buckets to catch the drainage.

the soil is 40% FFOF, 40% custom top soil mix(top soil, peat moss, perlite, worm casts),20% added worm casting/general organics ancient forest/perlite mixture.
these are just estimated percentages. its around there tho.

veg feeding consists of ph 6.6 h20, then i rotate feedings with fox farm grow big/big bloom and few drops super thrive. then their no nute feed is few drops super thrive, thrive alive green organic, mollasses, and general organic caMg+. i then add a compost tea every 3 weeks or so that is worm casts/general organic ancient forest/& the guano compant super tea mix/mollasses/drop of two super thrive. i leave it to bubble for about 24/30 hrs then feed. the only plant that i feed bloom feed to is the dinafem roadrunner.

temps run a lil hot at 80d fareheit, with 38-41% RH. the temp with be fixed when i finally get a real exhaust fan pullling air out. only got air blowing in right now at 74d farenheit.

i also made a seed order for the promo the attitude was having giving me two dinafem strains of 5 fem packs along with a reserva privada kandy kush and female seeds x-line Extreme indica fem seed. so i got 12 more fem seeds on their way. theres the rundown of where im at at this point. smoke on friends. be safe. live kindly!

roadrunner update

dinafem roadrunner is about 8 days away from cutting down. im going to let it go week and a half. last feeding was two days ago. starting flush tomorrow. she stands 3.5' tall. all organicly grown. 1.5 gallon fox farm ocean forest mix. 400w mh/hps. the size shocked me. cant wait to see how much meds i get from the one plant...

12/11 update

heres a quick update with what i got going as of now.

flower:
my two huge bagseed plants decided to be males after about 4 days flowering. i sadly pulled them out and chopped em up. they never showed any signs of males when the preflowering stage was occuring. actually didnt really ever see any signs of preflowering at all. they were atleast 2.5 months old so whatever. then i was left with just my purple widow mom. i took my ww x bb mom and threw her in the flower room with the purple widow. 2 weeks after i put in my dinafem sweet deep grapefruit. i also through a screen on the bb x ww mom to try and get more even light on her. she was damn bushy. my goal is to be harvesting something every two weeks. im still trying to get that established and consistent. also, another sad note. i was taking a look at my pwid about a weeknhalf ago and saw some nuts coming in. HERMMMMM :( . not on every branch bud. but deff on multiple. i sat down over next three days going through every bud with tweezers plucking off every nanner i could find. i have not seen any new nanner growth since. hoping because i caught it early the plant wont regrow them. we will see. i read that you can pick off the hermd parts and hope for no regrowth if you growing a small number of plants and dont wanna just pull it from the grow. so thats what i did....

veg:
my veg room is coming along slowly. i need new lights in there. right now i have 4 2bulb 4' t12 flouros. 2 of which are vertical. i hope to be able to put my 400watt hps in there and purchase a 1000w for my flower in jan. i have 2 bb x ww in 5 gallons ffof that were clones from the mom, and i have another 4 8" bb x ww clones and 3 8" purple widow clones. one of my 5gal bb x ww i have under a home made screen im doing for a mini scrog project for her, and the other is going to be my new mom for future clones.

purple widow harvested

i cut her down. details:

genetics: purple power x white widow
12/12 length: 50 days
medium: ffof/perlite
light: 400mh/hps
pot gal: 3.5

dry weight: 65g
smell: i would describe it as a 'spicy pine' smell.
smoke: very smooth, cant even feel the smoke at all. sweetish after taste.

notes: she was a good plant to learn on. resin production, give it a 5 on a 10 scale. i did get a very early maturing pheno, however that was probly the only plus. it hermied early on and took away from the potential. i managed to remove all herm parts on every bud and there was no regrowth. the damage was done though im sure. the smell and taste is something i have not experienced before with cannabis. light airy buds. all in all, im displeased with the outcome. but, i learned alot.
