Hi everyone been a fan of this plant along time and I’m now having a go at producing my own. I’ve had some teething problems but I believe I have things where I need them now I was just looking for some feed back on the plants structure. She is only just coming up on 4 weeks since she sprouted and seems to be growing strong but very compact and I’m wondering if potentially something is wrong that I’m missing or it’s all ok? Any advice or point to consider would be greatly appreciated

Hi.

I'm far from being an expert, but to me the yellowish brown splotches on some of the leaves might indicate a calcium deficiency. Calcium deficiencies will cause stunted growth. I'm assuming that's a DWC system you're using by the hydroton pellets. What kind of water are you using in it? If it's an RO or distilled water, are you adding cal/mag to it after adding your nutes? Also, what kind of light and at what height above the plants? The more information you provide, (pH levels, temperatures, VPD, RH%, etc.) the more that better minds than mine will be able to dial in on what's causing your issue.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

BA.

Sometimes when the light is too close it keeps them short. Is it auto or photoperiod? Try raising the light up.

Some strains are naturally short, and some seed sellers describe how tall a plant is expected to grow. That said, @Galgrows is right about the light intensity affecting height. 24 inches from the light to the plant's top is a good height for the vegetation stage of growth. Also, as @Brother_Antioch, mentioned, those spots on the leaves could be calcium deficiency, but could also be a reaction to excessive light intensity. They don't need much light when they're young. They do when they're flowering, though.

I’m using a marshydro ts1000 at 16inches at 40% so it’s getting about 400 - 500 par. I’m using tap water with a 0.4ec, 1.4ec with nutrients. The node spacing are consistent at 10mm and it’s growing a node a day at this point so growth doesn’t seem stunted the lower growth is stretching up but due to the big leaves up top it’s not getting much light to the lower growth. I did have problems with wind burn due to my circulation fan being directed at the plant so I changed that and had to prune all the damaged lower fan leaves off as they all went brown a crispy. The leaves with the brown spots are the last of the growth that was damaged I left them as they weren’t as bad as the others
