My first grow ever was a dwcI agree rdwc is much more stable and easier to look after. If you can pull off some big plants in DWC you will greatly appreciate rdwc for how much more stable and easy it us.
Same and it was 1 bucket lol... more work than my 4 site... but I sure learned about stabilityMy first grow ever was a dwcnever again lol.
That’s so simple but extremely effective. This chart has helped me dial in my droView attachment 1115403

It’s most likely from the white buckets. Try just wrapping em in a reflective paper. Like Mylar. Or aluminum foil. LolMan I'm dealing with algae in this rdwc. Constantly massaging the roots. Now my dwc, while tedious, has treated me far better in regards to algae.. It only lasted a week. This rdwc seems like I should do res changes every 3 days.. While my dwc just requires topped off.. And lasts about 10 days before I need to change.
Im sure it's light leak, but I can't really fix it better until this grow is done. I can't complain either way honestly.. All 3 plants are doing might fine given the contraptions they sit in.
Dark blue buckets wrapped in black rubber. My white pvc lines are wrapped in duck tape. Lids are covered in black then white tape. I think the white pvc with one layer of duck tape is my issue. I do use white lines for air and black tube for flow.. Idk I find I'm gonna be using alot of hydroguard. My temps stay around 72.. Growth is amazing though on the rdwc. Just annoying lol.. Not only do I have to do all the Checks.. But I gotta massage the roots every 24 hours lol.. I'll fix it when this grow is done and I can tear it all apart. Thanks for the pointers guys. It’s most likely from the white buckets. Try just wrapping em in a reflective paper. Like Mylar. Or aluminum foil. Lol
Since you’re already kind of stuck though I would do it by hand for the next couple days and go build an rdwc system on the side and transfer all those plants into it seeing how all you have to do is hold the lid up. Not like it’s gonna shock them either it’s literally the same system done smarter.
I would do it sooner then later if you plan to continue doing this lolYea I was honestly planning on switching to rdwc soon as I can afford to. This is also my first grow so I didn't want to go that crazy with no experience. I upped my ppm's to around 850 and now they're drinking 3 gal in about a week.
You’re honestly talking about a $30 water pump, 8 bulk heads if you do it right I’m assuming it’s a 4 site @ like $2, a box of 3/4” tubing @ $25-$50, a 6 way manifold for the drip lines which is like $5 at hd, 1/4 tubing for the drip lines, 5 air stones you should already have and the rest is all shit you should have already. That’s less then $100.Yea I was honestly planning on switching to rdwc soon as I can afford to. This is also my first grow so I didn't want to go that crazy with no experience. If it really is algae which I doubt it’s inside the bucket on the roots highly but assuming I’m wrong they sell black painters plastic at hd by the roll for dirt cheap just wrap your buckets in that.
You guys also realize you can take a dehumidifier and use is as a chiller as well right? There’s some wiring involved but if you’re game and aren’t scared it’s a lot better then spending $600 on a chiller that may or may not last.
You just have to bypass the controls and wire in an external thermostat controller but you can drop the evaporator coil right in the water. A 70pt dehumidifier has almost a 1hp compressor that’s a lot of cooling.

72f is a great temp imo. I won't get started on it though lolWhite widow, gelat.og and king tut
Auto white Widow is at day 35 from sprout. And the other 2 are just now popping up. Im about to do a res change and was curious as to what ppm you all would use, ive been at 420 for some time. Ph stays around 5.6. Also is that root rot? All those roots were starting to clump together and get...www.thcfarmer.com
It stays around 72, which ive heard is fine. If I want to cool it I can inline a copper coil in the ground outside 5 foot away for under 100. Not to worried about the temps but I do get it. Im just assuming if I fix my light leaks ill be fine. It doesnt happen to my auto anymore, worked it self out of it somehow. . these seem to be doing the same. .just sucks.
