1 x Fast Bud in 5L pot

Joint Doctors Purchased Seeds:
2 x Lowryder #2 in 11L pots

Equipment:

Cupboard Grow: I do not have a tape measure right now but will update with exact measurements
Mylar sheeting for reflection
400W HPS with reflector
Hurricane 15W Fan
Open Window in grow room for ventilation
Electronic Weather Monitors
All Mix Organic Soil

100ml for the 2 Lowryders in the back

The Sweet Seeds Freebies I received free with my order and they are the front two plants. The Speed Devil #2 on the left and the Fast Bud on the right, both growing in 5L pots for now. They are now 19/20 days old. Sorry I forgot the exact date of germination :)

The 2 x Lowryder #2's are the recently planted plants growing in 11L pots at the back. I placed them under the HPS this morning. They are 6 days old.

The weather:

Between 28 and 30 degrees celcius
Humidity between 31 and 32

3 days later:

So I moved the 2 Lowryders out of the closet and put them under my T5 Lightwave(3 300 Lumens) rack for vegging. I think it was too soon for the HPS. One seems to be a little stressed and the other looks fine. I'm giving them 24/0 for now and another week or so before I move them back to the closet.

The Speed Devil #2 and Fast Bud are doing well, getting quite bushy and are now showing signs of flowering.

Light Cycle:

18/6 for the bigger girls
Water Ph 6 to 6.5

Water Cycle:

Every Two Days
700ml for the 2 bigger girls in the front
100ml for the 2 Lowryder #2's

The weather:

Between 28 and 30 degrees celcius
Humidity between 31 and 32

Questions, Comments, Help and Suggestions are welcome :)

All I can say is that the speed devil smells beautiful, tastes amazing and is one of my fav autos, you'll be happy when it comes through.
With autos people are still experimenting with nutes. I would get the bio bizz nutes and give it less than you would non auto schedules as they are tougher than its non auto friends but make sure you flush(water until it runs out the bottem clear) two weeks before they are ready and anytime they seem to struggle. The most common problems come from salt build up(too much food) more common on organic set ups.
Your pictures look great for a first attempt. Feel proud of your babies.

Thanks Midnight!

The main thing I'm struggling with at the moment is temps, with temperatures going over 30 degrees every now and then. From what I've read this is bad for photosynthesis, otherwise it seems to be going well.

My bottom leaves are also starting to turn yellow while the top leaves are looking healthy. Do I need to worry at this stage?

I will post some pics later today so you can see.

A little Help/Advice Please? - Fast Bud #1

Hi Everybody,

Please take a look at he following pics and let me know if I should be concerned or not?

Lets take a look at the "Fast Bud" first.

The leaves have started to get a little "droopy" and the bottom fan leaves have started turning light green to yellow. Is this normal or should I be taking any necessary preventative actions?

Please could somebody advise me of the possible symptoms?

Here are the pics:

A little Help/Advice Please? - Speed Devil #2

The Speed Devil is also showing signs of "Droopy/Claw" shaped leaves but no signs of yellowing.

Please advise if I should be worried or what the possible symptoms could be?

Thanks in advance guys and gal's :)

Update 10 January 2010

Ok, lots of views but no comments.so I will carry on anyway.

Here we are 5 days later and 30 days into the grow since germination:

Controlling temps in my grow area was not working so I added another T5 with some warm white tubes for the Speed Devil and Fast Bud. The situation has definitely improved. Once they are farther into their flowering process, I will finish them off with the HPS again.

I'm learning slowly that the entire process comes with practice and experimentation as not everybody's situation is exactly the same ;)

The two Lowryder #2's are also vegging nicely under the other T5.

Here are some pics:

The first 4 pics are the Speed Devil #2 and the second 4 are the Fast Bud #1. Also a couple of pics of the setup.

Comments and suggestions are welcome :)

Hey there!!

I was really interested in your grow and how your getting on!! Your plants were looking pretty there!! Also since no one else answered about the yellowing of the fast bud's leaves could be a couple of things, and by no means am i an expert lol but could have been the temp issues you were having causing burn on leaves or nute burn, as i know how easy it easy to over do the nute's with auto's! you should give us a wee update :cool0019:

Stardate three zero January, the year 2012, somewhere on planet Earth...

Thanks for stopping by Sassy :smiley_joint:

the Saga continues....

Anyway, I had to go away for 2 weeks for personal reasons, so I got a mate to babysit the girls :)

I wrote down a full schedule of feeding days and times with nutes etc...

I got back yesterday and am pleased how the girls have grown up. I think the two bigger girls are almost ready for harvest but I think I will give them another week or so under HPS again.

I've now placed all the plants back under the HPS to the 2 x Lowryders can now develop their buds nicely....

Here are some pics :)

Thanks for stopping by greenfond :)

I will be harvesting next weekend and will put up some more pics. I took some samples this weekend, I know I Know, but I have not smoked in a while and being my first grow, I really wanted to try some of my own :)

See you all next week for the harvest

6th February 2012 Update

Here we are another week later and here are some pictures of the current situation.

The 2 smaller pot plants(Fast Bud and Speed Devil2 are now almost ready for harvest as they have been growing for almost 2 months.

The 2 x Lowryder 2 plants are now flowering very well and as you can see they are now much larger than the 2 x smaller plants. This is probably due to the size of the grow pots.

Harvest :) - Day 69 before and after.

Here are some pics of the before and after Harvest.

Not too shabby for a 6L pot closet grow :rollj:

Now for some drying and curing.

Please remember this was my first time doing this, so I'm pretty chuffed :pimp:

The plate on the right is the Fast Bud(Note the LARGE Bud :)) and the one on the left is the Speed Devil #2.

Those are some pretty decent buds for a first grow. There is nothing like the feeling you get chopping and manicuring your first lady. It seems your problems were mostly temperature issues. I bet your next grow will go much smoother.

Your setup looks really nice too.

I used to use 1 gal plastic pots and always had yellowing later in the grow. After harvest the roots would be this big twirly mess on the bottom. I switched over to the fabric pots and my roots don't ball up anymore and I feel like I get less yellowing and a tiny bit better yield.

Hey FarmerRod,

I forgot to ask what nutrients did you use? I read through the thread but didn't see a mention.

Hey FB,

To be honest, I didn't use much, just every now and then. I used the following:

Formulex Nutrient solution while vegging.

Aptus Plant care "Top Booster" during flower.

Probably once, max twice a week during feeds...

The 2 x Lowryders are well into flowering and have another 1.5 to 2 weeks according to the "Joint Doctor Label". I'll be posting more pics later this week....
