First time grow in coco

I have perlite on order 👍🏼 Also do I keep the ppm the same throughout the whole grow or up it in flower? I’m currently at 5.8ph thanks for the advice

You thought that I don’t know that coco coir is the outside hull of a coconut? It’s a hydroponic medium. I’ve stated I’ve done my research. People who treat coco like soil run into nute problems because you have to constantly water to wash off the nutrients it clings on to. I don’t go near the stuff. I’m an organic and soil playa

Idk if it classed as ditch weed lol it just what’s grows in northern China kind of area and because of time span cycles being different it’s in their genetics. Their are some really nice auto strains from the right breeders that’s worth the bang for the buck but the fem version will be stronger.

Rudeeralis grows naturally all over, from China, to Europe, to Minnesota.

I have gone from 5.6 ph early veg to around 5.8 late veg early flower. Later flower ill hit up to 6.2.

Ppm i start at 400 and work up typically you would max out about 800. I run co2 and I'm in small 1 gal pots so I'm feeding 1000ppm 8 times a day right now. But my grow is different.

Always feed 5% of the pot size as of ten as needed to get 10-20% runoff and everything should be good there.

Hmmm i don't remember saying or insinuating that you don't know coco. And its not about washing nutrients it holds onto its about consistent feeding and maintaining ppm and ph values that are stable and consistent. the CEC of coco is is much lower than soil it doesn't hold onto nutrients like soil at all. Almost all coco is prebuffered these days.

@Enforcer has been an amazing coco grower for a long time.... he can teach me a few things and has 😁 if he is willing to give advice on coco that's one guy I want listen to

The very top of my coco gets dry after a few hours because I have negative pressure with two open tent vents and a fan spinning the air in my tent.

Not sure what your saying... sure you can let it dry, feed it every few days etc etc. But if ya want the most out of it then you wanna do it the way I posted. I have to water mine 8x a day right now to keep them saturated. Granted I'm not growing like most do with coco. As they are in 1 gal pots.

I've been wanting a drip set up but don't have the luxury atm. Mine do great letting them dry a bit b4 watering again. I water when they are still moist but the pot feels lighter. I've hand watered coco the same way for almost a decade. Guess I'm long overdue for a dtw drip system.

I mean its not a must but it helps... so does using a bit bigger pots. If I was in 3 gal I probably need to water around 2-3 times a day. It's definitely not a must to keep it 90%-100% saturation but likely will faster growth with less issues related to ph, ppm and nutrient ratios.

Yeah no way I could hand water these guys... if I were id likely do 3 or 5 gal pots to reduce the need.

@Aqua Man I am having trouble getting any run off what so ever. Every time I feed no matter how much goes into the bucket nothing comes out. Do you think it might have something to do with my set up. I have them on an auto feed system that comes on 3 times a day for 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes the return pump goes on and returns everything to the res. How do I get run off?

Should I drill some holes in the bottom bucket to allow some of the water to run off?
