First time grow in zone 9b, lets learn from my mistakes

If I had the choice, I would go with year-old, dried up, eucalyptus leaves over a freshly chipped pine! I wouldn’t be thrilled about using either one actually! I know you can probably get away with it! Let your conscience be your guide!

Internet says that pine can be good, but it’s a little more on the acidic side which could be good for my clay, and that it takes a while to break down, so I guess it just has to sit for a while 🤷‍♂️

I can't say I played with shit, and worms today ! I knew only being an indoor grower, I was missing something ! Oh, did your tree have any resin pockets on the radial face ? Does your pike of chips stink ?
This is the tree in question if anyone wants to ID it 🤷‍♂️

Also, sounds like it is fine to use as mulch or in your compost. Sounds better than pine or eucalyptus, imo.

was literally gonna post that I was waiting for someone to tell me not to use it 😂

Nope. I looked it up. Sounds good to me, but I'm sure you can find conflicting info online if you go searching. Out of everything you've named, I'd be using this with the horse dookie.

*along with all kitchen scraps, if you compost them too.

Yes yes.

I built a compost tumbler. That’s sorta working. But everything else I put in a 55 gallon drum, and when it’s full I dump it into a new pile with the horse poop.

It’s a mix of kitchen scraps and carboardy bits. I also have a friend bringing me all of her rabbit shit 🤣

I feel you! Those things Can be a pain in the ass! Probably need a chain and a pick up truck to pull them out! L O L I removed some big juniper bushes, and by the time I was 1/4 of the way through I was wishing I would’ve just left them!
