This thing was a little beast from the beginning, it nor his twin exhibited any normal male traits.

knot pic is a super crop on same plant. I'm going to stud him out and harvest a bunch of pollen

Strain is @Captspaulding Maui Gas Pedal. I still have clone backups as well under 24hr light and
starvation diet to keep them small until I decide what to do with them. They root very well - only
5 days in my 1st time use of a cloning bucket; hit 100% easily
Very healthy, and a nice old stock on him. You will have a ton of pollen from that one alone. I usually only need to grow a male out once to achieve enough pollen for several projects. I have been able to store pollen for up to 8 months in my deep freezer in vacuum bags. I'm sure it would last longer, just usually have no need after I do a couple crosses and experiments with it. Or I have a few buddies that I will give them some to do their crossing. We all go back and forth with what we have, sometimes things work, but most of the time to be happy I have to back cross at least twice to find out if it was a waste of time. Really nothing is a waste of time as long as you end up with something to smoke. I have been playing with sherbet cream pie, doing some back crossing on that. I just finished my third backcross on that. Then I have a sherbet cream pie x blue nerds strain, a few people inspired to call it nerd creamer lol I'm in week 2 of flower rn in my small tent. Really nice vibrant pink tips on the top buds, and some of the leaves have pink with purple tips and really vibrant green base bud formations. The last one took on the bluish color from the blue nerds with purple leaves but has the creamy sweet smell of the sherbet cream pie. And the other seed I just germinated has more of the sherbet looks so far. I will perfect this strain lol. I will post some pictures tomorrow when the lights turn on in my small tent.

My next question is, I'm about 5 months in on my 2 big girls/hermaphrodites and need to throw them into flower soon, what should I know being the first time I'm putting anything into flower, should I dose it with nitrogen or whatnot, or any preparations I need to make other than just changing the light cycle?

They look small for 5 months old. Whole plant pic would be helpful. When you flip them, leave them on veg formula for 10-14 days or until the end of stretch, they need the N during this time. Make sure the 12 hr dark period is uninterrupted with no light leaks.

They are small indeed, they had a rough start sadly, I'm new to this so I managed to flood them in the beginning, then after they recovered from that I almost killed them with a bad fungus gnat infestation, then a nitrogen deficiency. Like I said, learned a lot, they've been through a lot but I've gotten them this far, they're more just for trial and error at this point but I hope I get something out of them. They're about 2 and a half to 3 feet tall, but bushy as hell. I clip off dead leaves when I find them but for the most part I've let them grow unaltered other than topping them. I know I need to at some point defoliate it as well but I'll have to do a lil research there, and I'll get more pics when I get home.

I didn't even notice the 5 month part. They do look pretty small for being that old. My mother's get huge by 5 months with all the clones that come off.

What are you using for lights? With that much stretch you should probably bring the light closer to the plants.

pretty picture, i hope mine look something like that, i have 3 different plants, 1 is eggroll x grapegas, 1 is gas face, and the lil guy with the fat leaves is a seed from the strain Snoop dogg. I'm more excited about the small one than the 2 biggies though.

Make sure you completely whipe and clean your whole setup after each harvest to minimize that from happening it could be from a previous plant. It really doesn't take much pollen to make seeds. I have a room for males, I use a q tip to cross with, and even then I will get seeds throughout a bud or two. I have to run those plants in a separate setup from my main flowering set ups. It all takes space, time and money. Ntm I don't grow for anyone but myself these days. I have a small group of people that I deal with in exchanging genetics and seeds. Our mission is to have our own strains not available to public, like back in the day when you would have to search for that special beautiful unicorn. We have been doing this for years, trying different variations of different crosses. Some of them we keep, but most are just stepping stones to get what we consider to be unique. Rn I have about four sets of seeds that I will continue to grow till I eventually r.i.p.
Sweet.! Yes I understand that. But I grow outdoors, clean up consists of firing up the rototiller, and amending the soil throughout the year with all kinds of organic materials. At least as much possible without attracting all the critters. Don't need them digging up past relatives...šŸ˜‰

And I'm growing in my bathroom because I lack a tent or anything else sadly

That is a 100 watt light and totally explains the 5 week veg.
You will either need to get more light or decide what plant you want to flower. The footprint for light energy sufficient to flower a photo at at least 800 ppfd is about 40 watts per square feet. This gives you a little over 2 square feet of " good enough " light.
Sorry for the news.

That honestly isn't horrible news, I'm not opposed to only throwing 1 of them into flower at a time, I planned on trying to get more lights soon because obviously the lil fat leaf lady won't be ready to flower at the same time as the big girls. Since she's easily 2-3 months younger than the big ones. And it's 5 months veg not week lol. It's been a journey learning along the way.

Outside is a different story. That's impossible to keep from getting seeds if you live near any other grows within a five mile radius. Bees will fly miles from crop top crop, male weed plants have more pollen then most other pollinators. So naturally they find it quicker to collect from those farm. They don't effect the whole crop. Just some of the outer layers. Unless the nest is in your crops area. I have been to a couple farms where they keep honey bees to make natural honey from the plants. The honey taste so much Better in my opinion when it's from a weed farm. Not the honey they infused.

Yea the light you want should have a good spectrum with a decent μmol/Watt. I run additional red spectrum lights with my regular 600w LEDs. There are cheap lights that don't run much more than that. The light you purchased isn't the one you would want to use for cannabis. That's more for house plants during the winter time. You have to have it right up on the plants for it to really work. About 12"or less for that light. It doesn't push many lumens. Do research on cheap light first.(You don't want to burn your place down). And for doing a grow without a tent, make sure you have no light leaks in that room. Mars hydro has decently priced lights for start up. Spiderfarmer too. Once you get more established than you will probably start looking into bar light for a larger area. Or you can get a more expensive smaller light for a reasonable flower space. My main room each light cost about $900 USD. My smaller rooms about $400 USD/light. And for my experiment tent I just use a simple mars hydro light.

I wish I had that kind of money sadly not really an option, and yeah the light was originally purchased for vegetable growing in a small tent. Bought the tent on wish forever ago and ordered a 2x2 tent and got a 4 foot by 10 foot tent that's 7 feet tall and don't really have anywhere to put it and the light was def too small for that so the tent is in storage. But yeah it was not intended to grow this kind of green when purchased, I'm actually surprised with how well it seems to be working considering i have it strapped to the 10 foot tall ceiling at about maybe 3 foot away from the top of the plants. And it keeps the room a balmy 79 degrees pretty much at all times.

Black Friday will soon be here and that's when I bought my current 4x4 kit for 469 bucks shipped.
Wife bought a 70 watt light for some succulents for 39.99

Buy once cry once. Seriously though, small plants don't need big light. I grew a mother 6' tall under a cheepo 4', 40w led shop style grow light. It probably wouldn't produce big, dense buds, but for vegging; you can grow big plants with low power lights.

It would be awesome if bees could actually make honey from cannabis pollen instead of doing nothing constructive but carrying weed pollen around to plants, wouldn't it? (drool)

You want a real treat try some pixie tangerine honey, it's a local thing around here.

I've always wanted to try that psychoactive "mad honey" that some bees in Africa, the Himalayas and elsewhere make. Some of it is mildly hallucinogenic
