Hey @Rolandomota i dont mean to steal any of your thunder on this post as its for your plants. But while we here, since were both new and trying to learn, i wanted to throw a question in the ring as i just entered my grow, and i hit a new stage, maybe you can learn from this too, unless you already know. Just going to steal the thunder for a quick minute here, @Aqua Man This plant has been topped. She has grown out some more. I feel she is ready to be topped again but im unsure. Am i ready? I feel like i can just get a quick answer here instead of having to make a brand new thread, and like i said maybe other viewers on the post can learn as i learn with this too.
I top once then scrog. So without experience I would give between 1-3 nodes then top again depend on the branch placement to achieve even canopy. So top branches I would top may after 1 node and bottom maybe 3. My goal would be to top and make an even canopy. No fast hard rule that I know of but I'm really not very experienced in topping a lot.

Defoliation who does it and when? And if you do is it ok to remove the lower fan leaves. If their are ne fan leaves up top? So that way all the new growth can get more light?

I was thinking doing this once plants back to normal

So the guy is wrong bit his logic sounds good only it's not imo. Plants will adapt to conditions. So if one stem is in shade it signals the plant to extend the internode length for that stem. Basically causing it to what we call stretch. Plants have processes to deal with almost everything you can imagine. So imo only remove fan leaves that are stacking and causing condensate or heavy foliage restricting air flow through the plant.

Now there is a thing called lollipoing. That is a very common practice. This ensures good airflow and also removes bud sites that are low down and do not receive enough light to ripen at the same rate as the upper bud sites.

There are 2 ways to deal with this. Lollipop and harvest once or so not lollipop and harvest twice.

Most choose to harvest once and lollipop as I do. But some will not lollipop or limit it to harvest twice. So in that case you take the buds from the top and harvest then let the lower buds mature/ripen and harvest them ABOUT a week later. This can increase yieild and I have heard from a couple growers ( I respect) that the lower buds given the chance to ripen are actually more potent. I cannot verify that as it's not something I have done.

Imo remove only what needed. And yes after the second week of flower (after stretch) I will pull some fans leaves if I feel they are blocking prime bud sites, restricting air flow or stacking causing condensation.

Here is another video of what I wanna do to mine when they a lil better

Just a suggestion after trying a lot of techniques. Let them grow naturally and dont cut them up the first time. The leaves are your buffer for making mistakes. The plant will use them for nutrients when you screw up feeding.

And you will likely hurt your yield removing plant material. Veg is for growing leaves and bud sites.

Watch them and learn about them first.

If they get too tall in flower you can still bend them down and make a bush.

Those sick plants I harvested with the nice big flowers would not have made it at all if i had cut many of her leaves off.

Ok fair enough I was just looking a pic of when my plants weren't ugly lmao. And looking at them now and I can see where the big leaves are blocking and holding back my new growth to expand and get some rays. I think the plants look a lil more alive then earlier.

Theyre bouncing back, a couple days. Youll need a couple days for sure. took mine like 4-5 to look good after the shit storm i gave them.

They are stressed, overwatered and now transplanted.

Let them be man. They need a week to dry out I bet. The leaves will flatten out and turn more of a medium green and look happy and healthy.

If you keep doing things to them they will get much worse.

Growing is a slow process. successful growers dont play wih their plants a lot.

Ok 10 4 I thought they were blocking and stuff but guess just cause they so dead looking that they over lap more then they were when living

10 4 yeah they gonna chill for a good while before anything else gets done. Just something I was looking at for future plans

I understand but the leaves know what they are doing a lot better than we do.

If you feel you have to try stuff. Try it on one plant. And let others grow normally.

Yes defoliation can control growth. But its an advanced technique and you dont know what they grow like yet.

Fair warning.

Yeah man, i had this issue and MiMedGrower and Aqua Man had to pretty much sit me down and beat me to death to get me to stop watching my plants and all that, i was on top of my plants 24 7. I check my grow once in the morning now, and if they get sad, well they get sad, they bounce back. AND LET ME TELL YOU THIS HAS HELPED ME MORE THAN ANYTHING. Just Staying the fuck away from my plants, and they are growing like beasts. You got youreself in a fine spot. Now, you gotta let them do the work. Let them be plants. You got this man. :D

LOL Did i do something wrong!?? Wrong timers? I mean, shit if you guys got better lemme know so i can upgrade LOL.
If your going to use them... just make sure you put them in a area that you will not be working around......
there easyto hit , move pins and mess things up......... if your going to use them then Really the one's from walmart are good for cheap.... I have a box of them for indoor x-mass lights from the last few yrs, cause that's what Debbie supplyed..... and yes I have 2 in my tents right now but there out of the way and this goes back to don't do as I do... do as I say......lol

If you can spend a few $$$ more now that it's x-mass time go to HD or some were and buy a few OUTDOOR timers set then up 1 time and roll with that....
