Hi! It’s my first time growing. I’m not sure what to trim. I’m growing Black Mamba, it’s an indica. I’m using a 225 led light, and Micro, Grow, Bloom nutrient and Cal mag. I’ve never trimmed and it’s at 2 months of growth including seedling stage. I tried Fimming but I basically Topped it by accident. Here’s a video of Linda and a few pics.

Not sure what I should trim. When should I lollipop, or if maybe I shouldn’t? Not sure.

Also, I’m assuming the two nodes that are growing from the part that I Topped are going to be stems?

The second pic is a shot of the top of the main stem, where I topped it essentially. That was 5 days ago, so not sure what I should expect.

hi bud

Trimming is what you do after harvest. To clean up the buds and take the sugar ( smaller) leaves off.

What you done is called topping.
This will help you to know understand what will happen and what to expect.

It’s a time laps video

It might not tell you everything you want to know about topping as many will top multiple times and tie them down.

There’s many topping on here ( personally I don’t) so you should get some better videos/comments

Good luck

So it’ll be the two little shoots that sprouted off the top fan leaves that will grow? Thank you, I’m still new to the terminology :) all info is helpful.

After that though, so I take fan leaves off from the bottom, or should I just keep those bad boys rollin

If you look close you sort of fimmed you have a node pushing growth and maybe another (blue)
You have 4 good growth points (red)
There are many ways to train and they all depend on your preferences. you could clean up that cut in blue or leave it. You could tuck or weigh down those big fans (white) that may let more lightning hit the lower pair of growth tips

I was thinking of keeping the cut in the middle. Two growths are coming from it currently. I’m gunna try to push down the larger fan leaves so the growths in the middle can grow a little bit better. Thank you for the advice. I just don’t know what I’m looking at half the time hahaha :)

I’ve tucked some of the larger fan leaves under the new shoot growth. I’m hoping this will boost some of the growth on the tips that are breaking through the canopy! Fingers crossed

What exactly are you looking to accomplish with the final shape of the plant? This could help point you in the right direction as to next steps to take. I'm a noob so I won't say "hey do this" but I do have a good understanding of how plants like to grow and will give suggestions where I can

I’m hoping for more vertical growth after bushing it up abit with Topping. So I’m hoping these shoots will grow past the fan leaves and start growing upward more. And no worries :) we’re all beginners kinda. Some with more experience than others. I’m super low on the experience scale, so it all helps.

Basically hoping to have it grow another foot of heigh and continue the bush growth. I’m giving it two more months of veg, then ima switch to 12/12

Hey your looking good gromie!!! Your big fan leaves are your batteries... but also they can help give insight if the plant is stressing... now that you topped... this is where the fun begins... once those 2 chutes get a little stronger they will grow vertical but best to tie down horizontally as much as possible... this will give you your bush effect...

This is a nice video of mainlining... a different format of topping basically.... but helpful stuff!!!

I tried to upload another video for topping but wouldn't imbed... but youtube indica institute... I found his video are very helpful

Should I be concerned about these hairs? It’s a feminized, so it shouldn’t be flowering. Pic 1 and 2.
Otherwise! I got two shoots coming from the main stem and the two shoots that sprouted off the top two fan leaves are always growing upward! The tuck did really well so far, and the canopy is almost pierced fully!

Also, I’ve been using this light on full mode, I hope that’s not harming the plant.

I was concerned cause it’s Veg/bloom setting is what I’m on hahaha. Still 18 hours of light, so figured it wouldn’t make a difference aside from giving it extra energy to grow. Just the hairs sketched me out cause I was concerned it was blooming bahahaha. Must just be new little leaves or something

Tucking seems to have helped abit. I took some of the smaller leaves that were dying off from the inside of the bush, and tucked the top two growths back. Feed time tomorrow, so she should be doing well.

Some of the top new leaves are growing a little weird, but I’m assuming it’s because of the clutter on top.

Did some wiring. Trying to give the top centre growth more energy and kinda grow out certain bottom shoots. Pretty happy with it so far :) wish I kinda picked a better strain, but Black Domina seems decent. Got a fan, it’s adorable :) here are some new pics a video! With my cat lol

Yeah indoor get ‘em young and Make it 4 stalk plant. 2 early clips and you are gtg. You can scrog too but I never had to. When the plant begins to flower then you take everything off the lower half. You want as many tops as possible to be even up in the light. Some strains are lanky and not even so you adjust. Those are best for scrog imo. I’m not an expert but am doing very well 😁

This things like a bush to be honest hahaha. I’m gunna try to get till Christmas and then bloom the lady. I’m not sure if I will too anymore, I might just let her gain some height. I was thinking of putting the fan under the canopy aiming upward to maybe help.

Currently though I’m hoping giving the middle growth space will help the centre grow taller again off the two shoots. The side shoots I’m going to strap down. Aiming for a short bush! :)

Feel free to post some pics and such! And good luck with your grow
