Good morning everyone, quick Saturday update. She's doing her thing, moving along slowly. Pistils starting to change colors (hopefully just changing colors and not withering away lol), trichromes building up a bit more. Wondering how much longer to go... I'll get a loupe / microscope soon to get a look up close.

In the meantime I noticed another issue. Probably too late now to rectify but interesting to see — at some point the plant stopped making five finger leaves and went back to three fingers. In some places I'm seeing oddly shaped two finger leaves.

My guess is this is / was due to combination of light stress and incorrect nutrient balance, but I defer to and hope to get everyone else's opinions. At least it's not re-vegging!

As always I would love any and all input, about the mutant leaves, as well as when you think it might be harvest time.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Happy Monday! Got a little microscope, started playing with it. So hard to hold it steady! Might have to figure out how to rig the little base it came with to some sort of tripod or maybe a lamp arm...

Closing out week 10, the plant seems to be pretty much on schedule.

Thoughts on when to harvest? Pistils are still mostly white, turning to this caramel color, starting to show up pretty evenly now. Less so on the lower branches, mostly on the bigger buds. I'll be working on getting better shots of the trichrome tops, but would love any suggestions on when to harvest. Was hoping to get one more feeding in, she is due tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!

Haven't updated this thread in a long long time.... Today she is sixteen weeks old. Definitely ready now! Saturday will be the day for harvesting, and then the plan is to do the initial drying in a small 18x30x34 tent. We'll burn that bridge when we get to it!

Here are a few photos, will update on chop day.

Congrats on making it to the finish line. I dry by weight. Cut a 10-20 gram bud, weigh it every night til it stops losing weight, around 75%, then jar for curing. Temp and humidity near 60 is ideal for drying, someplace dark with light air circulation.

Thanks @Madbud ! Pretty crazy looking back at how things started, this little plant had a rough childhood but really finished well. Despite me!

Will be drying in a mini tent that is dark and has good air flow, easy to control humidity, but temps will be tough to get below 70ºF ... I have an a/c in here but probably the lowest it will get is overnight in the mid 60s. Should I still keep the RH at 60%, even with higher than ideal temps?

I like the drying by weight method, thanks for suggesting. I will definitely do that too.

Yeah, 60° is pretty cold but thats what the book says. I’m lucky if it stays below 70 but it dries fine.

Started to trim off leaves in preparation for tomorrow's chop. Soooooooo many leaves!

Definitely over fed her veg nutes early on after she had already switched into flowering mode, and also wayyyy too much light. At least until she got acclimated to the sun...

At one point she stopped making five fingered leaves and started making lots of singles and three fingers, as well as some real weirdos like the ones below. Amazing that she kept soldiering on though and produced all these sticky chunky buds anyway.

Will probably be a little on the harsh side is my guess just with the sheer amount of leaf material, but on the plus side anything anywhere near the buds is covered in trichromes... So maybe will balance out.

Will update more tomorrow 🙏

Did the deed! Now drying, will be monitoring the weight before jarring them up. I'm seriously chuffed. The buds are leafy but very very sticky. They smell amazing, I smoked some scissor / finger hash and it tasted great and got me quite baked, so I guess so far so good... Something I couldn't see while she was growing because of all the excess leaves is that the buds themselves had turned purple! Can't wait to smoke them 😄

Fingers crossed the drying goes well.

Great job! I just recently watched from the start and I didnt expect that big harvest! I bet youre very happy! With autos sometimes they dont grow much but they are packed, every tiny auto I had was nothing but buds and leaves lol.

The single and triple leaves are a sign of reveg in photos and increased sunlight hours would bring it on. Maybe autos too.

Getting my tent dialed in for drying, this is going to be as close as I can get ti the magic 60/60 ratio. And thankfully it looks like the weather will be on my side this week

Thank you! Definitely a stronger finish than anticipated, couldn't have made it this far without all you guys.

Working on a photo clone now hehe....

Fingers crossed but looks like I'll be getting a decent little haul from this thick little shorty lol Definitely will be doing autos again, I like the quick pace. Just need to have a light touch and a good habitat.

The plant definitely did some weird stuff right after I transplanted it into the bigger 3 gallon fabric pot. I was feeding it full doses of all three fox farms every watering (approx 1x week), and it was getting upwards of 1600 PPFD in the full sun, the light was getting stronger every day just as it was switching itself into flower.

All that fox farms has loaded the soil with salt. My soil gets up around 1600 ppm at the end of a run. Some growers flush the soil at the end, ya gotta flush it at some point if you want to reuse it.

The soil was pretty full of roots so didn't want to bother trying to clean it. It's Pro-Mix HP which is pretty absorbant so probably wouldve taken a lot of water. After my overfeeding episode I measured the soil ph under the root ball as low as 4.3, so not worth the effort or water use. I did clean the bag though, loving these fabric pots.

Just rotated the loose buds on the parchment paper, trying not to handle them too much. They're feeling very soft and fluffy, sticky to the touch, stems pliable. They look and smell great!

Loving putting my face in front of the exhaust duct when it kicks on and breathing deeply lol

Turn off the light. THC will degrade under light. Cool, Dry, dark place is what you want for proper curing.

If it's too cold I would use the heating mat you have rather than the light.

^^^ What he said ^^^

Light, moisture and big temp changes are all bad.

The light is off, I only turn it on when I am checking in on them which is about once or twice a day. It's a very low power 13w 6500k cfl. Otherwise they are in total darkness. The heating mat is not in use.

Conditions are in the 68º / 60% range +/- a little, but pretty stable. I have a humidifier set to 60% using distilled water, two fans blowing inside at low speed, pointed away from the buds, and the exhaust fan runs for two minutes every 18 minutes (so 2 mins 3x an hour).
