Evening crew.. it's been quite a while since visiting this site and I'm here hopefully to post my first attempt at an indoor grow. Got a 3ft X 3ft tent that's only 6ft high and I'm already thinking this may be an issue. I went with 2 x 6inch Spiderfarmer exhaust units one to blow filtered air into the tent and one to remove hot air each fan 200cfm. This will also help to keep negative pressure throughout the grow. Also Spiderfarmer 3000W LED light board without a dimmer also may be an issue. I've removed the control board from the light panel and running it from outside the tent to keep temps down as I live in a Subtropical climate. Also using the cool exhaust air to regulate the temp of the control board to the LEDs hoping to improved efficiency and longevity of my lights. Only growing 2 plants at first to see how I go, I need to get some to germinate first. I'll be growing in non fertile soil as the medium and supplimenting nutrients.

Were the steel grates a creation for the grow or ???? Cool looking riser either way. Wish you the best and it looks great. What are your outdoor temps this time year.
Howdy Homesteader the grates sure were makes capturing the run off easier. Still getting to over 30°C here daytime and not much under 22°C at night will start getting cool soon we just started Autumn.

Are you going to use coco or something like promix? That metal building must get pretty toasty in the summer. Nice looking building though. Are you going to just run during the cool season?

I'm not to sure on the mix atm was going to do a coco-soil combo and see how the grow goes. Definitely be mostly cooler season grows, I ran the tent for a week in the middle of summer to check temps and with an outside temp of 40°C inside shed temp of 46°C the tent ran at 34°C 80% humidity. I don't have a humidifier or temp control so would be hard to control the humidity during flower in summer.

If first time using LED you should be aware you need the temperature over 80F with lights on. At least. About 26C during lights on and only about 10 degrees cooler lights out. Better at 28 to 29C lights on.

Just mixed up some soil with 70L Coco peat, 10L Coco pro potting mix and 20L garden soil. I'll be using 2 X 15L material pots for my tent and I have 2 X 10L plastic post if I get enough sprout I'll put a couple outdoor in my greenhouse with the option to put the smaller pots in the tent if needed.

I'll be using a range of Cyco nutrients, I have used these before on an outdoor grow with great results.

Wow... Almost 8 weeks later and finally got some of my old seeds to pop. Granted I haven't been too fanatic about germination probably been through about 30 odd seeds. While the time has been passing waiting for the seeds to pop I have found a reliable seed bank that delivers to my area so this will be a trial run for the good seeds I just ordered. I've had these seeds for about 10 years and it's a very mixed bag so I have no idea of strain, the germination wasn't the strongest so fingers crossed for the next few days. I don't have the luxury of a dimmer on my lights so I have raised them up to try soften the light for the little ladies. I'll be running lights on from 03:00 - 21:00 with fans running from 01:30 - 22:30 as we're coming into Winter and without temp control I think it will be too cold to run fans 24/7.

Day 5 and still heading in the right direction looked like they needed more light at day 4 so i lowered the unit by 200m down to 1m clearance and looks like it made a difference. Once I re-pot I'll gain another 200mm with pot size and plants should be about 150mm+ by then.. Trying to use the height difference as my dimmer on the lights. Watering once a day at about 7am 4 hrs after lights on, I've also turned off the larger fan on the top corner as temps we're getting a bit low and there is still plenty of air flow.

This is quite nice. There are also amazing blogs to read to improve your efforts when it comes to this one. It's quite challenging indeed to grow and maintain this kind of field but it surely has the best benefits anyone can enjoy from.

Day 7 and I've got one doing well and the other not so well, so I decided to put them in their forever home the not so well one yesterday and the good one today. Dug a hole in the dry medium and took the seedlings out of their cups and backfilled around with a gentle water in. I'll spray the medium down over the next week to soak it through in time for the first round of nutrients. I also lifted the lights a smidge to give 900mm clearance, with everything the way it is set up I'll get a total of 1100mm grown space with 300mm clearance from the lights at it's highest.
