First time trying cloning any advice?

I'm usually around, but it's hard for me keep up in real time, bc I can only type one key at a time with a mouse and onscreen keyboard (my left thumb is messed up). So if I don't reply right away, fear not; ole Gimpy here will make it to the party eventually😆

Hey @Salvadorrr, (or any noobs) have you been to the TrainWreck thread yet? That's the most active thread where some the top growers on the site (world?) hang out and shoot the shit and post a meme or 6. If you haven't been there stop in and say hey

Hey OP, not hi-jacking your thread. Continuing the discussion ✌️💨

Asking experienced growers. Too early to take clones from this lady ? Where would you cut ?

Thanks ✌️

I would wait to take a cut, even if only one clone. The more sturdy the stem, the better your chances of success IME. I like cuts at least 3-4" long. I also like to see vigorous growth before I consider taking anything.

Water is ok but a solution with about 1/3 hydrogen peroxide is better and change the water daily. I put mine sit in rooting solution for a few hours so they will draw it up, then transfer them to Roots Riot plugs placed in Dixie cups. They work great. Unless I do something dumb to screw it up, the clones keep their color. My success rate has really improved with these.

I was even able to root a section of plant I had already cut clones from. Nothing but a couple tiny leaf sprouts to start off with. Damn thing is actually rooting. I didn't expect it to survive but it has. It's been a couple weeks now but here it is. Put it in soil a couple days ago.

🤣 cool I'm one of the best growers in the world.... the French touch 😎😎😎😎

Isn't there also a story that drool can be used for cloning? If so, I'm going to dip my clones in my English bulldog's drool 🤣🤣🤣

Lol someone had shared info on The Trainwreck about how supposedly exposing cannabis seeds to your saliva introduces them to your DNA which they will make use of and it will help the plant customize the strain for you, or some such nonsense. So I made this dark meme. 🤣

I've cloned 4 plants so far. 100% success rate. A couple I topped and used the top, a couple I cut low branches. Either way, I just put them in water for a moment, scuffed up the bottom three quarters inch to inch, dipped in rooting compound and dropped into some wet plugs. I left them under a dome a week or 2, until I could see roots, then transplanted into a pot. Making sure they don't dry out. I am lighting that room 18/6.
