A good way to deal with caterpillars and there poop is to hose them off regularly. You can also make a fine mesh barrier around you ladies so the moths can’t get to them.

not just water. You use hydrogen peroxide. 3 bucket system. 1 bucket to soak them (luke warm); 1 bucket with a H202 solution; and a third to rinse them. I did it last year and I'm doing it again this year. I have but rot problem. This just makes sure that any spores are dead before you start drying.

If you cut and dry and miss any bud rot- will it spread during drying? I have to cut it down today & tomorrow. I’ve been cutting out rot every day now and each day there is more. I’m just wondering if I miss any what happens.

I definitely don’t have time to do that this year. Hopefully I will have all the rot removed before drying. I’m worried I may miss some since there has been a lot each day

Yes, that’s why you do and H2O2/water dip. I do that in a deep storage container then hose the buds off. Be sure to do daily checks while they hang to dry. Even bending the buds to check deep in them. For hidden rot near the branch.

I miss a bud here and there. Here’s my theory, bud rot grows in moist environments, when you dry your plants, it holds it at bay. When you do your final trim, pluck out anything you miss. Spread your drying buds out, don’t give them anyplace to hide. Them , meaning mold. You will be fine. People have been growing and harvesting for ever. Don’t stress the small stuff.
