First timer! Need some help.

Hello! I live on the east end of Long Island. Lately the nights are cool but most days are warmer. My plants are in pretty direct sun. I know I had spots on 2 plants. I keep cutting them off but they return fast!
My question is- are they almost ready to dry? I’m leaving next week for 2 weeks and the timing seems to be when my plants will be ready. Or can I let them ride for 3 more weeks?
How much of the infected plant is too much to cut? I usually just go at it until I have had enough.
Thanks in advance. I got grove bags for curing. Hopefully that will make the process easier.
Oh! And water? My plants get pretty droopy without water so I water them a little every day or every other. Is that too much?

Upon further reading I def have some bud rot. I will go and remove it tomorrow. But if I can’t watch it for 2 weeks would it be better to pull now? Dry for a solid week and the cure it? Or let it ride?

Yeah id most definitely pull her and harvest what I could ,no since in letting her rot and freeze.A good dry and month long cure and you will still have some decent smoke.hope this helps,sincerely kyfarmerb1984

This warm rainy weather ain’t good. It’s a judgment call. I wouldn’t leave them at this time of year for sure. You could come back to a bunch of bud rot. I’m between shampton and bhampton.

My experience with bud rot is that it moves very quickly. I think you'd be lucky to have anything left to harvest if you were to wait 2 weeks. Good luck-

Thanks! I’m in Sag. If I pull it today I only have a week to dry. I’m in quite a pickle!! Or I can cut the rot away monitor and pull it next week then it would dry for 2 weeks but I wouldn’t be able to monitor that either.

I asked a local grower yesterday and he recommended bringing them inside because of the humidity. But I can’t do that. Some are 8 ft tall

Do you have any way to automate your drying process while away?

A tent, an inkbird humidity controller, and an exhaust fan are usually enough. Inkbird reads high humidity and turns on the exhaust fan until humidity levels are good again. What humidity to maintain depends on the temperature you can maintain.

If you have no way to automate, hanging in a larger room will help maintain a more consistent temp/humidity range while you are away. Start in a room with lower humidity and the wet plants will slowly increase it while you are away.

Your plants should be fine for 2 weeks in that scenario. In fact, if you can make that hang dry last the whole 2 weeks, slowly dropping the moisture content of the buds, you will have a much better product in the end.

If u want to extend your drying time, don't trim anything. ( Rot removed ), and hang the whole plant. Or branches, if your growing trees n bushes like some have growing, here.

The plants are just too big for me to do that. I can hang some branches for sure but I couldn’t even get the whole plant into the house haha
