flood an drain help

When you pot the plants, I like to flood the tray while I`m potting so I can see exactly how high the water comes up in the pots.

Thats a then there darn good idea

This is especially important when using 3 gallon or 5 gallon pots.

sorry to get of topic only my second grow hydroton in pots 20 to a 4x4 table 2x600w my question is how do i know how often to water i am currently watering 3 times lights on 1 off plants seem to be doing alright but i have noticed roots are always wet is this alright

try twice a day ive been flooding em once a day and they are fine. Depends on how big your plants are i suppose
