Right where the petiole meets the stalk.
I simultaneously love you and hate you. You are just gonna have to deal with that.
These are going in the trash. Sorry but I got no time in my life for this bullshit.Yeah that really sucks brother. @1diesel1 nay have some helpful info on how to get rid of them. not an easy feat by any means. Fortunately i never had to deal with them yet
I read somewhere (cant remember where now) that sulfur kills russet mites. Ive never had anything but a few gnats and spider mites that i used pyganic and dr zymes on, so i cant really say what works and doesnt work for sure. Just throwing my little knowledge out there lol.Yeah that really sucks brother. @1diesel1 nay have some helpful info on how to get rid of them. not an easy feat by any means. Bugs are part of the learning process,These are going in the trash. Sorry but I got no time in my life for this bullshit.
I hear you. I just come at this from the opposite perspective.Bugs are part of the learning process,
Especially growing ID.
OD Mother Nature is your savior.
Give it a shot, make it a challenge.
Throwing them away you let them win!
Don’t let them win!!!!
I’ll lick those fuckers off my plants!
They don’t like that!!!
So first thing is get the plants outside. Already cleaned everything I have touched with Iso.Even trashing them you need to break the life cycle with chemicals.
They live aprox. 3 weeks and reproduce/lay eggs at 2weeks.
Eggs hatch in 2 days.
Might just try to win in the process?
I used Smite which is listed in first link as killing RM and their eggs, as one of my IPM for thrips/spider mites.
I like to use more than one product to discourage resistance.
Thanks for the info Jack, welcome to the thread.Treat Pest Insects, Mites & Fungal Diseases With Green Cleaner!
Green Cleaner is an effective insecticide, miticide and fungicide without the residual impact of conventional pesticides. Green Cleaner can be used as a knockdown spray to control severe pest infestations and can be added to integrated pest management programs. The active ingredients of Soybean Oil (39%) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (19%) along with citric acid and isopropyl alcohol combine to make a potent treatment for russet mites, spider mites, mealybugs, powdery mildew and more!
Benefits of Green Cleaner:
Soybean oil coats the pest insects or spores to smother and limit respiration and hatch/propagation rates. Isopropyl alcohol and citric acid dehydrate and kill on contact. Both active processes kill eggs, immatures stages and adult bugs limiting the potential for developed insecticide resistance.
- No pest resistance with continued use. Great for resistance management programs.
- 0-hour REI (Re-entry Interval) & 0-day PHI (Pre-Harvest Interval).
- No need to suit up; spray it on your plants without using gloves or respirators.
- Multiple modes of action – smothers, kills on contact and cleans.
You can use Green Cleaner in every growing stage throughout cultivation. Green Cleaner is particularly helpful when controlling active pest populations during flowering and fruiting stages. There will not be contamination when outsourcing plant starts and clones. 2 oz. of Green Cleaner will make up to 4 gallons of spray.
Suggested Uses: For use on horticultural plants. Not for use on food or feed crops. Green Cleaner can be used as an insecticide, fungicide or miticide.
This Product Controls These Pests or Diseases: All soft bodied insects including spider mites (Tetranychidae) and their eggs, aphids (Aphidoidea), whiteflies (Aleyrodidae), broad mites (Polyphagotarsonemus latus) and russet mites (Aculops lysopersici). Also effective against powdery mildew (Erysiphales).
Thanks bro. Good call. All good I kill plants one way or another. Both ways lately like you unfortunately.
The first link said ISO does NOT kill eggs.
They hatch in 2 days from reading links.
I would go at it again with ISO 2x more 2 days apart.
Start your seeds elsewhere.
Get everything infested out,So first thing is get the plants outside. Already cleaned everything I have touched with Iso.
Then I'm gonna sterilize the res again. Then I sterilize the tent with clorox, and spray ISO on things that are not easily cleaned like faan blades.
UVC is an option. But I'll bet I can get it clean enough with my normal procedures. I'll make everything mushroom clean and go from there. I'll look into the links you posted after it is all out, if I need to do more, I can at that point.
Sorry if it seems like I'm a quitter, but I have lots of stuff I want to accomplish down here in this lab, and this little side quest is just a thorn in my side. Gotta stay on the path.
Yeah I can do that.Get everything infested out,
Before you clean turn the heat up as high as you can get it in there.
90-110F if you can.
This will make dormant eggs in there hatch.
Russet eggs are extremely hard to exterminate in there dormant state.
Then clean.
Wait a couple days then do it again.
