For those who press rosin

I want to start making rosin. I have weed that isn't a good smoke so I wanted to make extracts. I checked into bubble hash and that seems confusing.

I checked around on Amazon. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on one. I found some $130 dollars but it looks like junk.

Anyone have a recommendation on a rosin press that's not too expensive?

The quailty of materials and equipment is important with a press. The frame, plates, jack, etc needs to be able to handle the pressure and the temp controller needs to be able to keep the set temp accurately.

Idk how well a cheap press would work.

I went with a 12 ton press from Dabpress, a 4 or 6 ton would be plenty but they're still not cheap.
They sell bundles where you get the tools, filters, etc that you need in order to press. The only thing extra I had to buy was parchment paper, which I bought locally at the grocery store.

I'll price dabpress. I might as well just get a decent one. I'm sure I will keep using it. Might as well bite the bullet and get good stuff.

It just occurred me that I have a shop press that remains unassembled since 2014 lol. Time to put it together!

I have a 4 ton dab press. If I was going to buy one again I would look for one that has a pressure gauge. It’s fun to make rosin. The bubble hash comes out cleaner but the dry sift is pretty easy.

I just got a dab press myself, nothing fancy I think a 5 ton from Amazon lololol
Been making some clean bubble hash (water hash)
All these names for the same thing ! Lol

But yeah been making some and heated it between parchment .. thinking I was making dabbable wax type shit and nahh man, it taste good, it melts and vaporizes okay, but leaves quite a bit of residual behind that’s when I knew I was doing something wrong.
Came to find out might be good to put that dried bubble hash in a micron bag and press it. Thus my experimenting has begun.

I will need a good technique for curing as well..

One things leads to the next and honestly if we truly are cannabis connoisseurs, it’s beautiful learning all the processes. Which can then applied in other areas of life , like cooking, food preservation, distillation,
But it does come at a price

I have a four ton dab press. What I don’t like about it is: doesn’t seem to have enough pressure, and does not have a pressure gauge to replicate amount of squeeze. If you are going to get into pressing rosin you need to also learn how to make bubble hash. Yohh in will get much better yield from hash than flower
