Hello fellow farmers. I just flipped my 2nd grow. Ya that new. I would like opinions on how long to use the bud igniter. Plants just started showing pistols a week or so ago. Also, is it used in addition to the Sensi A & B nutes? I'm growing in Fox Farm Ocean Forest medium, with a 240 watt Bloom Plus LED. I'm not opposed to dropping up to $250 on a new light if anyone feels this one is not adequate.
Thanks for help

Thank you. I'm growing in a back bedroom. I made a space in garage, but I don't want to shock them. Smaller space.

It's not letting me open up the pic on my phone. How big is your tent? 240 watts is fine it'll just yield less than a 480watt ya know

I was reading another thread where they are talking about co2 I don't supplement with it. Room reads between 450-650
It is at lower end until I'm in room breathing etc....do you think using a simple Exhale bag would be beneficial? Especially when I read they take a month to really start really kicking in. Also, would putting up a sheet to decrease grow area, enabling humidity to stay higher. Will this keep more light in if reflective material used?

I believe reflective material helps . Co2 isn't cost effective in a small grow. How big is your area?

it's a 2'd x 4'w x 8'h closet. bi-pass doors are removed, and plants are 1/2 in closter and 1/2 in room. I could shove them in the actual closet and put reflective mat. on walls I guess. I figure more space and air is best. Probably ass backwards.

Hmm. Well grow light is 30watts per sq ft which is efficient. That's what I get from mine but it's not the best i'll admit. And it doesn't matter as long as the area is getting some sort of fresh air exchange and oscillating fan.

Tenting the area would probably help me control the humidity better. Do they like lower hum level during flower?

Typically the humidity should always stay 20 points lower then the temp (in the usa) so 50% humidity should be 70 degrees.
But ALOT of people on here will argue the side of low humidity being fine for them. So to each his own.

Welcome to the Farm! I'm a big fan of Advanced Nutrients products. I would recommend following their labels. They pay very intelligent scientists to figure out the formulations, recommended rates, and at what time to apply them. Bud Ignitor is suggested to be used during the first two weeks of the Flower cycle. Mix it right in with the Sensi A + B nutes and then check the pH. Always check pH after you add the nutrients. I would strongly recommend at least getting Bud Candy and Big Bud if nothing else. Sensizym is an excellent product and so is Nirvana. Overdrive is for the last two weeks of Flower. All excellent products from AN in my experience using them and many other growers.

I used to grow in Ocean Forest exclusively and have switched to a mix of Sunshine Advanced Growers Mix #4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend and find it far superior for drainage and root growth. Coast of Maine has quite a bit more food in it too than Ocean Forest. Something to maybe consider trying for the next grow. I do recommend cutting the Stonington Blend with something porous and fluffy. It doesn't necessarily have to be the Sunshine mix.

As far as the light goes, it is recommended for that space and will get the job done, but in my experience if you want dense resinous high quality flowers, you need powerful lights. One option is you can barely fit another one of the lights you have in there to increase PPFD, but I'm pretty sure it will fit. That's the cheapest option. You can get one on Amazon for $150. That light has a pretty good spectrum for both Veg and Flower, but it is a better Veg light because of the blue spectrum being so strong. Cannabis needs more red light in Flower. No need to be using any supplemented CO2 until you dial in your environment and get the PPFD up closer to 1500-2000.

I would recommend a light spectrum that looks closer to these lights.

Depending on how much you want to push the plants, the best option for that space is this light right here. I got six of them and they're phenomenal lights. More than double what you said you're willing to spend, but light is a major factor pushing growth. It all depends on your goals and what you're willing to spend buddy. Best of luck!

Are you saying ADD the Big Candy and Big Bud to the Sensi A&B? Also, I have some sugar from last crop. Is this the same as Bud Candy?

Airflow is just as important as keeping the RH consistent. Humidity levels can drop down to 35% towards the end of Flower. 50-60% should be fine for the first half of Flower before the plants get too big and bushy as long as you defoliate properly. Any areas that trap airflow or reduce light penetration to lower bud sites should be removed. That will help reduce the chances of powdery mildew and get more light to the lower flower sites.

There's a lot of variation in the information available for the ideal VPD for Cannabis. It's a resilient plant and can handle a wide range of temps and humidity levels in nature, but indoors keeping your environment consistent with the lights on and off is the most important thing to do IMO. Figure out what temps and humidity levels you can keep your environment the most consistent within some of the charts available online. Reference multiple charts and see what works best for you.

Add it in the nutrient solution. Measure out your Sensi A add that in. Sensi B, then the Big Bud, then the Bud Candy. They can all go into the same water. All of the Advanced Nutrients products within their feeding charts are compatible with one another.

Bud Candy has more in it than just the carbohydrates, but Sugaree will definitely help produce more resin. Like I said, it's up to you what your goals are for this grow at this point in time and what you're willing to spend.

I like Sensi too and I continue to use them but come on man. The dosage recommendations are not appropriate at all. Honestly start at 50% and read your plant needs.

I will agree with you as I mix a little light on suggested amounts and still see that I'm pushing it. I've read others post about the suggest mixing amounts being high with AV products. Happy grow my friend.

I was on the big island about 30 years ago. My brother lived there and grew in the cane fields with friends who knew the fields.
20' high plants, and 24" flowers, no joke. I believe cannabis loves it humid!
