Trim need not be chopped. But if you're using larf or popcorn nugs, chop em up to increase surface area.

Freeze til it's frozen. I've never tried to do it in less than 24 hours.

Your end product should be much more oily/waxy than with dry trim.

I just use the frozen trim with no chopping. I mix with a paint mixer on a Milwaukee drill. I mix the living shit out of it. The frozen wet trim is definitely better than the dry. I would agree, also more gummy. Some people have told me that the frozen trim bubble that I made was the best they had ever tasted.

Just freeze however and let it thaw during the agitation process when you're ready (couple hours to months/years). I like using vacuum freezer bags to remove as much moist air as possible that will become freezer burn later, then double bag or even alimonium foil if storing a while. If using for solvent extractions instead of sieving, might want to consider consequences of water from thawing and possibility of re-freeze ice clogging your setup.
