There's more than that one spot. I'm thinking it is a insect or disease. I'm gonna do some research.This is the 2nd time I've heard thunder :D but hasn't been a really really good storm yet...
I'm starting to hear cicadas, those fuckers get loud her come summer. I think that is just some type of callus on that branch. Maybe it got scared and that was it's way of protecting itself.
