National lockdown again for us in the UK😭 looking like it's for 10 weeks! Not that it makes much of a difference to my life, I don't go very far these days anyway, but it's going to be tough on the kids stuck in day and night again.
On the plus side its extremely quiet where I live hardly a soul about

Yes mate, they should have done this months ago, what a joke... If they keep prolonging full lock down (many company's have ways of getting around it?) total piss take.

Total change of plan, I'm going to flower these in the poly pots, as they're only really pheno hunts for the best of the packs and a few singles for variety and if they're nice I'll clone them. So..... I've defoliated and LSTd the ones that need it, or I'm gonna end up with some monsters with the TP. Plus leaves me space for the solo cup challenge too 😁

OK, I've definitely been bitten by the bug, or I've been biting the bug, or the cookies or the brownies, feck it either way edibles are the future. No smoking too, I'm now 5 days a non-smoker( I do use a vape with no nicotine in though or I'd smoke bud all day long😂) Only pure green, not even a blunt wrap 😁. Time to start looking into making vape oils too I think.

2 jars of oil to nearly 68g of what was pretty much pure bud with a bit of completely covered trim. Gonna be potent stuff. But I was looking for something stronger, I could use a little of in a normal recipe and still get the effect.

Edit @amekins how do I work out roughly how strong they are in mg? Thanks

Got it, means that 500g of oil with 68g of say 20% thc so 68 x 200(20% of 1000) = 27.2mg THC per g of oil

There are a lot of online THC calculators. But you don’t really need one.

28 g cannabis is equivalent to 28000 mg

The percentage of THC may be known or estimated. I’ll estimate 15%.

28000 x 0.15 = 4200 mg THC

I err on the side of not getting 100% extracted and have estimated 10% loss (it was research based looking at the Ardent Nova I sometimes use to decarb).

4200 - 10% = 4200 - 420 = 3780 mg available to be infused.

Now you just need to calculate the amount of THC per unit (oz/Tbsp/tsp).

Example, 8 oz of oil with the 3780 mg would yield 472.5 mg per oz/236 mg per Tbsp/78.75 mg per tsp.

Then determine how much per serving. Example, your recipe calls for 4 oz of oil. That’s 1890 mg of THC (472.5 x 4 = 1890).

Let’s say that recipe makes 24 cookies. Each cookie would be estimated to have 78.75 mg of THC (472.5 / 24 = 78.75).

Does that help?

I wasn't far off tbh. Once I take 10% off for loss on extraction I'm about right. Plus there was a couple of gram of pure kief in which will probably balance out that loss anyway. Now the hard part, working out what dose is good for me 😜😜

Kief dosage calculating is a bit different because kief itself is typically 60-80% THC, so you’ll end up with a much stronger infusion using kief than the same amount of leaf/bud.
