So i opened my 5 gal dwc bucket this morning for my usual checkup, and about 200 gnats came swarming out, and upon further inspection my roots are INFESTED. There are a lot.

I can't seem to find any info on how to remedy this problem in a hydroponic system, everything is about soil. Everyone says use neem oil but the problem isn't foliar, its only in my root zone, inside the bucket. Ive been letting the water level drop quite a bit between topping off, so Im sure that didn't help.

Any advice or recommendations will be well accepted.

thanks!

rock 1/4 dunk in our rez, and do it as a preventive measure all the time (helps kill maggots). flytape to take out the adults. they lay eggs on top of your medium, cover it up. those vile creatures will make short work of new root growth on small plants. bigger ones they dont seem to hurt much.. they like algae.
