Got some nice seeds from a reputable vendor in BC and now have been running for about 20 days. This will be my first ever indoor grow.

before everything, we need materials.
shopping list:
Opulent tent 4x4x8, ac infinity 6in in-line fan, 5 gallon grow bags, carbon filter, tds monitor, hygrometer, ph monitor, remo nutrient pack, co2 monitor & camera. Soil is 40 percent perlite 20 percent vermiculite 40 percent soil
Lighting: Electric Sky es180 v2 x2

day one: April 20th seeds received and 4 seeds soaked for 24 hrs, then moved to wet paper towel.
(no pic)
April 28th seedlings up all germinated

Here we are now on may 13th and I think my girls are doing well, some minor burns from early on

bueverything is looking nice. my plan is now to add 4 gallons of yeast and sugar recipe to keep co2 levels inside the tent high. It is notairtight but I expect levels to stay high in the tent without fans on. How are they looking?

Hey.

Looking good. Love, that shopping list. I also use Remo, but in hydroponics. So guess we are nutrient brothers.

I like these lights, they seem to be very efficient. I think it's semi sneaky/funny that their PPFD chart uses 2 of them but still, awesome lights.

How ever, they seem like they would be way too bright for those babies.

If you are having them directly under those lights, even at max tent height, I would do something about that. Shade, or use a CFL instead, or at least move to the corner of then and use only one light.

did you add any nutrients to the soil mix? Are you going to be using Velokelp or Natures Candy?

Hey thanks for replying, regarding the light intensity I’m under the impression that seedlings and young plants can be pushed under very hard light as long as all other requirements are met, from dr Bruce bugbee apogee science. Both lights are aprox 20in from the plants. I’m really trying to maximize DLI. I’m also filling the tent every houwith co2 lmao it’s depleting very fast unfortunately

using Reno’s grow, micro velokelp and calmag. No nutes in soil to start.. very happy with the lights.
I’d love to do hydroponics next cycle

I am having a lot of fun with hydro. It's easy to run, and you can control so much.

I skimmed that Drs work a bit. And I agree in principle. They can be pushed with light/c02/ideal everything. But still, it's good to read the signs the plant is giving for when too much is too much. It's hard to know the exact PPFD they are receiving without an appropriate instrument. And as you say, the co2 system may need some fine-tuning.

I suspect this discoloration is not superficial and will result in less robust growth than if it had been receiving less light and and not been bleached.

I am not expert though so 100% take with grain of salt

yeah I scorched those babies on the first week and it really was too much light. Things are better now, you’ve got me thinking now that what I suspect is under water symptom may be light stress symptom, so I will raise and monitor.. cheers

these plants watered 10hrs ago

Plants topped today, considered removing everything below to manifold but I don’t think they would recover. I have installed an ac to keep temps at 22c, I’ve ordered a par meter to determine the exact distance to place lights.

I'm jealous of your par meter

nothing good, i hope its semi accurate

uh oh, I think that is a lux meter.

I don't think it will read out PAR for you. And without knowing the exact mix of wavelengths of color in your light there's no easy way to convert lux to PAR. It works for giving you a relative idea of how bright some spots are compared to others. But not how much light your plants can use is available. Many modern smartphones have this sensor built-in and you can download apps to do the same thing.

A par meter is like this.

Maybe you knew this already. Just wanted to share in case there was a mix-up

ah! Order canceled then!

Good morning farmers, I’m extremely excited to present to you today: a side by side comparison between a lux meter and a quantum par meter, we shall also see the app data too.

now if I am correct, for this grow we can calculate: light DLI/ppfd, co2 ppm, temp hunidity wind 1m/s and VPD, root zone temperature, nutrients..

just need to switch to hydroponic so I can ensure maximum oxygen then i have all 9 monitored for results

VERY SURPRISED with a slight tilt of my light the light increases tremendously, additionally, lower nodecanopy levels are getting 10 percent plus loss of light, hypothesis; SIDE leds for explosive growth

check this :

will lower light until 1000 ppfd

1000 ppfd may be a bit high at their age. Unless you are adding c02. I would aim for 750 personally until they are a little bigger.

I am shocked to see the difference when lights were lowered from 22 inches to 15 inches. Light increased to 1000umol which is very high however I’m supplementing 1600ppm co2. If this meter is inaccurate we shall see crispy cannabis tommorow

everything is running nicely, I’ve done some topping and added some things to the grow..

ive raised the pots up from the floor, and decided to do one plant main lined, one LST, and two regular, all plants will have 4 tops.

I brought In peppers and now gnats are havin a hoot around my soil.. I know they are eating the roots and I’m hoping the exhaust on high will suck them out

Nodes are extremely packed and the stems are thick! I was thinking maybe two weeks more veg.. last Pic is day 26 from seed

temp 80f rh 67
Co2 1100 ppm
Ppfd 950-1050
19-5 lights

Its fun to watch your stuff grow and develop, ain't it?! How did you decide to go with the green Sunshine company lights? They sound like they know what they're doing. I love mine.

I was looking for lights initialy and i knew i wanted LED, found some comments about best crops theyve every seen being from GSC.. checked it out and the harvest pics spoke for themselves.. pricey but it is important to me the quality, lifetime, high safety.

the lights are intense and full spectrum, but so are quantum boards so basically i got overpriced QB's i assume they yield similar!
