I’m definitely going to say this, for anyone who is a new grower at all, stay away from any attempt at this. Sure there are training methods that can apply, with strains that that are hardy enough to bring yields. But that is few and far between. Why would you put yourself on a clock if it’s for fun? I’ve had one strain I could actually bring lst and topping to without detrimental yields. It’s seems to me, that one who even thinks this is a good idea to try, is waaaaay behind the 8ball on actually growing autos. Sure it’s fun if you are successful, but having maybe 1-2 strains you could possibly apply it to in the long haul seems wasteful even for a grower who just enjoys the time of they spend with flowers. I’m left wondering why?

Also, people can have different opinions without needing to be a dick about it, you said earlier that folks lack the knowledge, or bro science as you put it, I could say the same about you and cloning autos. your inexperience in autos is showing homie.
👊🏻🤡
Topping , training . It's canopy management.
It's definitely an advanced technique. Not for beginners.
Having all the tops at the same distance from the light .
This auto stretches with very thin branches . I wanted thick branches and get 8 fat tops . And it looks nice .
So it's a therapeutic and enjoyable hobby that rewards me with flowers that taste much better than most commercial weed. I love taste don't give f.xk about yields.
I also have canabonsai plants . Nothing about yields but damn is it cool to look at . Fun to grow .
To my astonishment everything, almost everything about cloning autos says tiny plants , crappy yields .
I'm super stoked to have a half oz of very tasty flowers . Oh yeah there are 3 clones.
Anyways .
To me bro science is repeating what you have heard with out doing an actual scientific control.
Google cloning autos .
You will have to dig very hard to find actual pictures and results. Every time the pictures of actual results defy the bro science bs of the impossibility to Clone autos.
So my bro science remark is about the general misconceptions about cloning autos that is proven incorrect by many people who have attempted to do so .

The Gentics of autoflower plants is not cut and dry . I think you know that and question why would I phoenno hunt for this gentic variation. ?
Good question .
I have multiple small grow units . I cloned these purely out of curiosity. I will say this one more time we are not all interested in maxing out yields .
Some of us have other goals .

Yeah, none of this plants in that pic were bringing anything close to the weights he was touting.
Now I know I sound like a dick a lot of the time but If there actually autos annd his im impressed I see a lot of people say they pull those numbers but no one can explain how they did it or actually prove that it’s there crop. I just wanna know how damn it! I only really keep growing Auto’s because I only get Ok results if I could get over 2oz dry off 1 auto I would be happy

Somehow this went toxic . If it's me . My apologies.
I was attempting stir up a conversation that does go against the grain .
Don't clone autos .
just don't.
later.
i dont think it was you he has been mad at me for weeks

Ain’t no one mad at you, I’m just saying that if you want to post things like muddy boots talking about how shits deep, stop being cryptic and hit me in message. being cute is not something I’m going to abide by right now. My post was in no way at the op here.

Here's how I do it. Start in seedling soil in a nursery cup, when you get about 3-5 sets of leaves you transplant into a 5 gallon bag, with FFOF soil. I have good HLG lights, intake and extraction fans. For that grow I used the FF trio plus calmag, Nutes PHed to about 6.2, 5-7 days after tranplanting top once and start LST. Don't do a lot of defol on autos. The biggest issue with autos is they can be a bit touchy when small, and improper watering or feeding will stunt them, and then there's no recovery time with autos. If you still don't believe they're autos PM me, I'll give you the website I posted that grow journal on 2 years ago!!!

Well I would like to pick your brain sometime if that’s cool for some tip an advice I like to mix Autos in and I always like what I get just trying to get better and get more out of them
honestly bro im not sure what i could tell you seems like its all be luck or genetics

It's not you. This is something that happens often when either a) autos are brought up or b) cloning autos. This isn't like a site thing. This is a world thing. People just like to get feisty when these things come up.

Me, I love this stuff. Cloning autos whether it's for pleasure, yields, or for breeding.

I do it because I enjoy watching the process as well as the ability to reverse the clones and collect or use the pollen. I don't use cloning with autos to increase yield though. I use HST, LST, and growing techniques for that. Small plants are less than 2oz, medium 2-4oz, and large being 4oz+. Typically, I hope they end up in the medium to medium large range because that's the kind of space I'm working with.

Here's an example time line I had of an auto clone for reversal.
Walter White Auto (Mephisto) clone time-line:
Clone pulled (day 31) Nov 28th (2 weeks ish of rooting and what not before moved back to the tent),
Started STS cycles 5 days apart for 5 cycles starting at clone day ~25-30.
Mom preflower stretch Early December
Mom harvested Jan 27th,
Clone harvested April 7th

So yeah, the time line stalls for a while and the clones basically had their own time line once cut. Maybe it had to do with my lower ambient temperatures but it let the clone get some side branches before it fully kicked to flower. It could have also been my last minute decision to transplant from a solo to a 1 gal nursery pot. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it super small or let it get a little bigger as all I needed was some pollen and seeds.

Some pics of the clone and the mom...

I like it when people do their own thing regardless of the dogmas like thou shalt not clone an auto or thou shalt not transplant an auto.

Just do what you like, whatever makes you happy.
I know more people that clone autos and they love it.
I personally dont because i have plenty of homemade seeds so no point for me really.

But yeah, like someone mentioned, for some reason autos seem to be a sensitive subject that sometimes ends in not so friendly discussions.
