Lookin killer in the garden man!! and at least one of each strain is badass!!! you sounded kind of excited when you started the Dank Sinatras so thats cool you got extras of those!!!! and very cool on saving the power and soil n stuff... always awesome when ya have extras to start the next round!!

but bro, those ribs man,,,, daaaamn!!! made me so hungry for ribs, good thing i already had a rack in the fridge!!!!! just after i saw your video i went out in the kitchen and peeled off that nasty skin off the backside(forget what it called but you know what i'm talking about) rubbed em down and left em sit overnight and put em on the smoker the next day. a mix of birch and apple wood.... i never cooked em in foil like that so after seeing yours i gave it try.....ahhhh yeah. turned out awesome. i think they had more flavor cooking in their fats and juices in the foil like that.

i knew you would like that smoker once you got into it.... so controllable and consistency is the key to great bbq... fluctuations in temp is what ruins a good cut of meat!!!

and the water bin is another great feature. when i was making my smoker i read a lot about all kinds and everyone with a water bowl just bragged a lot,,, i know i'm very happy i put one in my smoker thats for sure.... you don't really notice it too much in fatty meats but lean stuff like a turkey or chicken and veggies you really appreciate the extra moisture from the water bowl.... get creative on what you put in the water bowl too... i've used beer and wine, sometimes juices or other drinks... gives that extra depth of flavor!!!!!

and bro i think you inspired me to start a small herb garden on the windowsill... tired of buying herbs in the store or having them out in the greenhouse i never want to walk out there in the middle of cooking... so yeah i think i'm gonna make up some little sip type containers for the window!!!

keep cool in the summer heat brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no no no, my nuts aren't going in there...at all!!...
Can't wait until September gets here, it's the best time in the world for me! August is the start of all things good, I'll be allowed to get 2 bear.. if I get lucky
That's alot of good breakfast sausage going there the grinder....It's gonna pay for itself very quickly, as I have about 20lbs of elk burger still yet to be ground up, at 6-7 bucks a lbs it just makes sense...

Damn right that mutha will pay for itself! I really dig that sausage attachment and the fact it's electric! One I was looking at was manual and bolted to the side of a butcher table
I'd be sticking all kinds of stuff in there...not my nuts but I'd do mixes with cheese, herbs, apples, peaches, and of course... garlic!!!

Yeah that Dank Sinatra is something I'm really excited to get back into mainly because it's a hash plant and the last time I grew her I did'nt have a rosin press. Now it is fucking on!!!

Yep the smoker has been really good to me, I cant lie or talk shit about electric now. Those ribs came out so good! I coulda just pulled all the bones and had slabs of boneless rib meat for an epic sandwich!
I was thinking about maybe rigging up a battery bank, my big inverter, and some old solar panels to make it solar powered. Just one of things I think about getting all high and watching it go

Speaking of solar, I have another idea about making a solar oven using a DIY cool tube from my HPS days as the cooker part inside some left over hammered aluminum cut and shaped into a box to catch sun rays. Kinda like one of these GoSun ovens. I really cannot think of a better way to use some old and outdated grow equipment better than this. Plus it kinda validates me hoarding this stuff waiting for a useful idea to enter my brain

Seems like it would be a really great way to cook things like corn on the cob, veggie skewers and steamed shellfish like shrimp
Whooda thunk it that a batwing reflector and cool tube could be flipped upside down and turned into an oven???!!!

I'm scouting spots in my yard for that herb garden this weekend. Might even do a pop up greenhouse for winter herbs too but I'm thinking 3 earthboxes up on a table or stacked cinder blocks in a U pattern to fit one of those portable plastic ghouses over it. Then I think I could grow cilantro and cool weather herbs in the Winter as well as warm weather herbs
Another more ambitious idea would be go vertical using those quadpods I have and get back into aquaponics. The best herbs I ever grew came from the fish

Next up for the weekend cookout is a pork shoulder! I have an 8.5lb beast all rubbed down and ready to go in Saturday morning!
Made a fresh rub this morning in my shaker...Lots of pepper, fine and course ground, lil bit of kosher salt, paprika and lots of garlic!

Doin' it Texas style! I cant get into using brown sugar, mustard, or sauce like Carolina or Memphis style pulled pork...just too sweet and not my thing so I stole this recipe from the local bbq gawd, Aaron Franklin of Franklins BBQ. Ever since he did'nt let Kanye West cut in line and made him go to the back at his bbq joint here in ATX he's been my bbq hero... besides you of course.
I just went lighter on the salt since I'm not a heavy salt guy + I'm letting the rub sit for about 20 hours and dont want that salt pulling moisture from the roast

I also have a turkey breast project I wanna do soon...give it a good pepper rub, smoke it, then shave it into sandwich deli meat.
There's also some game hens in the freezer I wanna smoke but use a jerk rub on them.

And in other news...I hit that goal on the ebike!

Hope y'all have a great weekend and keep it cooled down! We have relentless heat down here but nothing some good weed, cold beer, and good bbq cant fix!!

Those looks soooooo freekin good brother!!! I would wreck that whole platter and the kid would'nt see any!!!

I have a fresh update and learned something super useful during this grow!
I've always, no matter what had issues with plants stretching crazy. Could never avoid it so I just learned to deal with it and built my room with lots of headroom to handle it.
I've read many reasons why it happens...HPS, heat, light too far away, genetics, and so on. But for me it did'nt matter. Indoors or out, HPS, LED, CMH my plants still stretched bad. Got ac going to beat the heat and they still stretch.

One common thing though was that I've always given my plants' roots plenty of room to roam and let them go wild in large containers.
Well for this grow I flipped to flower while they were still in veg containers and the roots were restricted. And whatdayaknow...the stretch has been nearly cut in half!
So all this effort to not use excess supplies also paid off in having a much more manageable early flower stretch.
Now I have headroom to spare. I can max out power on the LED without them bleaching tips of colas, and there's no 2' of wasted growth between the canopy and soil surface!
Learn something new every grow!

Flowering is going very well by what I'm seeing. Some nice early frost especially on the California Chrome. Healthy top to bottom with no burning or malnutrition, perky and happy plants...cant ask for more!
I've been tinkering with temps trying to do a real good job of simulating a transition of Summer to Fall so temps that were at 85-90 lights on and 80 at lights off are being taken down to 80 at lights on and 72 lights off

And the customary action video of ganja dancing in the artificial winds of the g-room!🌬

Have a great weekend Farmers and keep it lit!!!✌

They're only 1 or 2 gallon size airpots.
To use a car analogy, usually I upcan out of them with a 1/4 tank of gas left in fuel so my plants just keep on rolling along but for this one I waited until the gas light came on and ran out right before getting to the station. I had to push it the last couple hundred yards.
That little stall out held them back and they were right on the brink of being malnourished. Just enough energy to show sex and once they did then they got upcanned. Nothing else hurt them by doing this, it only seems to have reduced stretch by as much as 50-60%

Updates on what I'm smokin'.... what I'm eatin'...what I'm listenin' to...and what I'm growin'

Smokin' on some Ript Banana from my 4/20 harvest and it has me all

Also tested these two nugs on the Purpl Pro device & app

Been having a severe craving for authentic Philly cheesesteaks so last Friday I made a trip across town to a joint owned by a Philly transplant.
He names his sandwiches after characters in the Rocky movies and he has Amorosso rolls flown in every week. I'm an instant loyalist to his offerings!
I ordered up a Balboa which is your standard cheesesteak and a Paulie which is like the Balboa but has mushrooms "because Paulie's always trippin'" along with a blue steel pan pie
I got home and offered the pizza to my wife but I ate the cheesesteaks while watching Rocky II

Soooooooooo gooooooood!!!!!

In the garden I'm all in on the blurple madness. CMH is out and in it's place is a CLW 275 Solarsystem and on the outside are two 9' long Illumitex F3 rails added to the CLW 550s. All lights are at max power and full spectrum

some pics are in full blurple and some are with the light switched to "view"

And of course...videos!!!!

Your browser is not able to display this video.

blurple mode!

Tomorrow I'm smokin' some beef ribs and will be sure to get pics! And coming soon...trich shots!!!!

Hope all the farmers out there are having a great week and especially and happy hump day!!! Keep it lit!✌

All cool this end dude, can't grumble about much... Apart from the weather. July and I've got the log burner on... FFS!

I had a spot of postal bother recently ordering some bandanas from the US to the UK - I wanted to look like a bandit in the supermarket with this mandatory face covering business, so I'm holding back on any seeds at the moment. But I will get round to buying some GP seeds soon. Got to get the tents down after this run I got going on, Cindy 99 and they look to be bang on the money to finish in 50 days from flip. We're selling up and moving to the countryside, time for Marcus to grow up and get some goats. (and have a big old shed to make a decent grow space in!)

I made some incense cones out of some old dope yesterday, 2 teaspoons of fine ground bud mixed in with a teaspoon of makko powder - enough water to make a paste, shape and let dry for 24 hours - and the wife and I are a bit giggly and heavy headed tonight.

I'm gonna get me a diary going here I think. Not tonight. Too high.

Take it easy dude.

I like the idea of aroma therapy weed
Congrats on moving and yeah them goats are the do everything animal...lawn mower, watch dog, trash can, makes milk and be a taco!
Really it's not about what a goat can do but what is there a goat cannot do?
I hear ya on the masks. I ordered a bunch of different type but the one I want the most has yet to arrive. Apparently it has led lights in it and changes color

I figure if I have to do the mask thing I'm gonna make it weird and trippy
I'll be looking for that diary!

Hahahahaha I have that episode on the dvr too!!! There's a few from the Texas State Fair but that one is the best! Sucks for this year though since they cancelled the fair until 2021
I miss those fried lobsters too! I should make some one of these days. That batch you did looked delicious!!
Speaking of the fair and cheesesteaks I'm surprised nobody has done a deep fried cheesesteak? Hell they do burgers, pizza, pb&j...Might as well do a cheesesteak too! I have had fried cheesecake and it's every bit of delicious you could imagine

Yoyos just came into play tonight! haha! I also have this one plant where it seems stakes would be best for her so she got staked and wired a couple weeks ago and is better for it now.

This grow is already ranking up there as one of my faves to pull off. I'm really liking the variety of plants and the way things have happened over the past 4 weeks or so. Drastically decreasing stretch is a game changer for me with so much headroom to use these lights at the proper height now. Every day seems like a really good day for the ladies and it's such a pleasure taking care of them

California Chrome is gonna be a good one

This is the shit I love to have going. It's gonna be like a candy store for stoners at harvest.
There's indica on the left, hybrid towards the back, and on the right is some haze doing her thing
Strains are Dank Sinatra, Cali Chrome, and Bandit Breath

Rocking the stakes for this Mendo Cookie lady!
Down low is some garden wire wrapped around kinda like a tomato cage trellis

Yoyo photo bomb

These dank sinatras are in a row lined up on the wall kinda hiding behind the other plants that are almost twice as tall

And a moment of zen

We've been in the 90s the past few days and it feels like Winter compared to the 108 and 110 we had a couple weeks ago
Been guzzling cold water, the blender is always churning out slushy drinks with and without alcohol, and eating cold smoked turkey sandwiches to cope
>

It's getting more and more difficult to pull some good pics now. I have to make some adjustments to the view settings and maybe get some floros in to help clean up the lighting issues. Basically the greasier the plants get, the more the resin reflects the blurple and it just makes it hard to get clean shots with a natural light look. Gonna play with it more later tonight

California Chrome is making me want to turn around and pop the rest of the pack and make more seeds of it. The resin this plant is oozing out looks as if somebody comes in at lights out and smears Crisco cooking lard all over the flowers

Tombstone trying her best to echo the writing on the wall

Yep that's pretty much hot, as it's hot again today. Some dumbass lit a fire at a day-use campsite, and started a fucking fire under 10 miles from the house. State DNR has two helicopters and 80 men fighting it,and they still can get it under control, some people are idiots.

But hey at least your flowers look greese as hell!! Keep up the good work...
