you can make one for like 50 bucks no problem that has 30 holes just need a air pump some air stones plastic rubbermaid tote dril lwith circular saw attachment and some neoprene pucks if u want msg me ill send u some pics of the one i made it works great first run i had all of my plants rooted and ready for pots in 7 days!

A turbo klone 96 is cheaper and has 36 more sites than the EZ. It also has a built in fan and u can get a humidity dome for them too.

make your own ez cloner. rubbermaid 18 gal or a tough box 27 gal. need a submersable pump, attach PVC and drill holes into PVC for ez cloner nozzles and youre all set. easy as hell. forget a circular saw, just use a hole saw or forstner drill bit (run it in reverse full speed for best result, basically melting a perfect hole). you can make as many cloning sites as you want. i have 3-4 tops to use depending on what im cloning, so its like having multiple ez clones in one

I use perlite with great success. Just take a container, put some small holes in the bottom, fill with perlite, fill with water, let it drain then fill with clones. Every few days just sit the container in a few inches of water for a minute or two and you will have roots within 10 days.

Go to eBay and find the best price on an EZ Clone 30 and don't look back. It will be the best decision you make today. DIY clone machines are a PITA. They always end up costing more than you had hoped, take more time to build than you expected and require you buy specialty tools you probably don't already have. Then they leak.

And, no conventional cloning method will get you the root growth quality of an EZ clone in the same amount of time. Plus, you can transplant your clones in 10 days or let them remain in the system for a few weeks without issue. Unlike rapid rooters that have to be transplanted or go bad within a few days.

EZ Clone has already perfected the design and if you keep everything clean/sterile and your ph range is 5.9-6.3 you'll get 100% every round in 10 days. Also, don't reuse the neoprene inserts, roottech rooting gel rocks (2 min soak), and clean the system with 1tsp/gal bleach between each run. I think that's about it. Good luck.

I made an copy of the EZ Cloner for approx. $25. The question i have is when placing cuttings in the neoprene inserts how far am I supposed to place the cutting below the neoprene? How much of the stem should stick out below the neoprene into the chamber? Will the constant misting/spraying wash off the rooting gel?

What's up with everyone being so proud of their crummy DIY clone machines? I never understood cheap bastards that want to stink up their grow show with DIY projects when we're growing produce that sells for $2800-4000/lb. I want clean, pretty and the best quality money can buy.

because some of us actually know how to do things for ourselves, and our results are anything but cheap & crummy. There is nothing wrong with throwing your money around at anything you like, spend more bro!

What does knowing how to do things yourself have to do with anything I said?

Don't get upset, I'm just expressing my opinion. It's nothing personal towards you.

If you want to be cheap and cut corners when growing a plant that fetches $250+ an oz., go ahead. I'm just pointing out the irony. You have to admit it's kind of funny if you think about it.

i'm not upset bro. Building your own equipment has nothing to do with being cheap. I own my own business and build things for people for a living, with professional results. That philosophy proliferates itself through everything I do. I suppose there is a bit of irony if you perceive it that way but not here!

i put mine anywhere from a inch 1/2 to 2 inches... u dont need to use rooting gel.. just ph'd water to 5.8-6.2

thanks for the reply wonka. i found instructions on EZ clone's site after I had posted that question. I'll give her the ol' college try!

ez 30 is key. surprised this wasn't mentioned yet, but keep the temp between 70-72 F i the EZ. The water tends to warm up a bit due to the pump constantly being on.
